How do blueprints actually work?
So, I've subscribed to a blueprint, granted myself the cornerstone and placed it.

I see a ..... 'blueprint" but how am I supposed to actually build it? I've tried placing some blocks where it shows in the blueprint but the blueprint stays quite hard on color so I can't even see where I've placed blocks.

Maybe I'm not using the right blocks so it's not clearing the blueprint? Will it if I use the blocks that the blueprint calls for?

Usualy you'll be able to hover on the hint blocks to see what they are. The cornerstone should tell you what you need (both what you've placed and what's required in total for each blocks). You place blocks on hint blocks themselves.

You can also purchase kits with all blocks in them if you want to do it quickly.

There might be another function I've never tried but I'd have to check out if I'm right and exactly what it is.

How would I activate it?

just right click or press F on it to interact and you should only see a few "hint blocks" around the cornerstone

Its within that menu you can hit customize and replace any block with something of the same kind.

Yeah. You would need to activate the cornerstone block first, as mulberryman said.

When you placed the cornerstone and see the blue-ish preview, you have two choices - build the thing without changes or change blocks to your liking.

If you just want to build as-is, right-click or press F on the cornerstone to activate it and it will show you the first few blocks. Blocks in your world that appear framed in red are in the way and need to be removed.

If you want to change things, e.g. not use expensive iron walls, but shredded leaves, you need to have a block of shredded leaves in your inventory first. Again right-click of press F on the cornerstone, but then do it again and it'll open a window, showing you a preview of the building and the needed materials. Click "customize" and then drag-and-drop the shredded leaves over the iron wall icon to substitute the block. The preview of the building will change to show you how it will now look like. Also, the coin costs to buy the building material should adjust to reflect the cheaper material. It is not necessary to buy the material, that's just for people like me who have more money than patience ;).

You can de-activate the burst fill for the blocks in your game settings und "controls", if you like.

Have fun!
