Kicked due to inactivity as owner in private server.
How can I stop this?

You cant... If you do not play the game it kicks you from it. If you do not want to be kicked from the server you have to do anything in that time frame.

In my experience, it doesn't kick you if you're browsing the store. I could be wrong.

I was kicked two times while browsing the workshop ingame :D

Browsing the workshop is done in the steam overlay, which removes your focus from the game itself unfortunately. There isn't really anything to be done about that.

That being said, it would be nice maybe to have a world setting so you can disable the inactivity kick for specific worlds, like solo or private worlds where you don't necessarily need it.

At least it gives you a warning for 10 minutes. And I have been kicked while browsing the store actually. One of those pain in the b*** things.

I believe it's to save bandwidth from being used by people like me who get up and go to swap the laundry and then forget what we were doing. Only to realize 30 minutes later that I was Creating.

Hopefully one day they will be making enough money to upgrade their servers and network, and they can get rid of that.

anyone tried this ? "placing yourself in an updraft above an active fan"? or "being pushed around by active fans"? does that also register "non-activity" over time ?

Well they say something is the first to go as you get older. But for the life of me, I can't remember what it is or who told me. :steammocking:

Doubting that counts as "activity." I'd expect key presses or mouse input to be required. I'll go float on a fan right now.

[Edit: Yup, floating on a fan, after 10 minutes idle got the warning message. Then I accidentally moved the mouse a tad and that messed up the test, preventing a disconnect. So did it again, the disconnect came.]

Its 2017... im pretty sure there is a LOT you can do about that, but its probably too much work or too hard to realize (like having to force valve to fix their crap.. community is allready trying for decades..)

i think as a pro-player its unfair to be kicked from my own game anyway.. i paid for this? along with all the other expenses i had in the shop i do not want to be kicked from my own game if i go take a leak

A 10 minute leak?! Whoaaa bro! Cut back on the 12 packs! :steammocking:

But seriously. If it's that important to you; get yourselve an auto-clicker. Set it so that when activated, it triggers your mine trigger, or jump if that works. Set it to click once every few seconds or so.

Then go do your thing. The server can't tell the difference and there are plenty of good open-source auto-clicks out there.

To be the devil's advocate here, those of us who paid for pro, we paid for PRO. Nothing more. We all got exactly what we paid for. Pro has a long list of goodies in it. It's a great value. Nowhere in that list did it say it would remove the game's inactivity timeout. No one has paid for that, because it's not for sale (yet).

If you buy a bottle of Rihanna's shampoo, then you feel cheated because after a week you don't have Rihanna's hair, don't forget what you actually paid for. You bought a bottle of shampoo. You didn't buy hair.

your absolutely right, but i mean there should be more server settings for those who pay, perhaps even make a pack for more, an elite package if you will but make it worth it at least,

the option to just stay logged in without getting kicked from the server should definatly be one,

as someone above suggested, autoclickers, meh.. i really feel i should not resort to that kind of things, technically even its a violation since you are using a third party application to gain advantage etc bla bla.. u know the stuff.
i allready got a vac ban several years ago cuz of such tools. not gonna do that again..
Sorry for being late to the party and for being THAT guy... but..... is it realy THAT much of a hassle to relog into the world again after being AFk for to long ?
