Where to find Golden keepa?

In my whole time I have only seen only one golden keepa!! That too spawned in salactite layer, any idea where they spawn the most?

Corruption... is the BEST area.

I can kill hundreds of keepas an hour there, aT least 20 gold an hour, double that for silvers, and hundreds of regulars an hour.

cottuption + glider + flashlight + corruption sandwich = hundreds of keepas an hour.

my current corruption chest rate (diamond chests) max is about 241 in an hour, with an average of about 200 an hour.

That's with a big flattened out area, right? What was your flattening method? Burn through lumite cells, or did you throw down purification bombs and clear the purified blocks? I started flattening an area down there and it is slow going

this is almost 1 claimable area flattened for chest and mob spawn.

IN the end, I flattened about 16 claims - filled in the water with blocks , removed all other blocks, left stalactites alone, it took me a few dozen lumite cells, but as I have over 40k in lumite it meant nothing to me in cost.

if i am on a world other than my primary, according to my spreadsheet I am able to do about 90% at the same gathering rate

The flat area was begun long before the glider, but now that I have the glider I really don't need the flat area. In the end, its just a nice place to farm tons of gear. I typically can see five to eight Things walking around, and by the time I kill them, I turn around and there are five more.

If I fly in a clockwise circle, I seem to pick up chests at a faster rate, and I have no idea why, its about 7% faster pickup and spawn rate

If I fly in an anticlockwise circle, thigns, keepas and chests farming rate goes down...appreciably. and I have no idea why.

A few points:

Corruption sandwiches are nice to have, and make thigns easier. Gliding into corruption water causes no damage, but without the sandwich I have to use health potions more often

Changing gravity to be low gravity results in the ability to mega hop, which means if you always are hopping, you wont die of corruption.

low gravity means even a new player can survive in corruption so long as they are careful, I often go straight to corruption the moment i log onto someones world.

Slow going? my 16 claim flat area took me about 50 hours

here is a screenshot looking northwest on my 16 claim flat area. after I took thsi screenshot I ran out there and grabbed 7 chests and killed four keepas, turned around and saw six more chests and four more keepas

any time you want to test drop rates / spawn rates in that large area, let me know and I will grant you permission to hunt on my world, I will also give you a full set of gear as I currently have almost 700 sets of diamond gear

NICE. Thanks for the 50 hour comment--wanted to make sure there wasn't a faster way to clear than I had been doing. I believe the spawn rates--I have a 4x4 claim mostly inside a hollowed out mountain that I keep dark while I'm building up parts of it. Chests and keepas spawn in there like crazy, so I can see how a 16x16 would be ultra productive.
