Does dirt grass over?
Im currently building the fort blueprint and am mining alot of blocks out of the way. In doing this im leaving alot of dirt blocks unearthed and was wondering if they would grass over given time or if I would need to replace them later.
Thanks in advance :)

Grass spreads to adjoining dirt blocks over time.

TFC's right. but you'll have to be always there giving it TLC hehehe. No seriously you have to be there if you want it to grow faster, otherwise, it will revert back to dirt. :steammocking:

Interesting. I thought grass never reverted to dirt. Though I can understand the need for a player to be in the area to keep it loaded.

That's been my experience. However i was referring to an earlier statement that grass would revert to dirt

It's a memory thing with the game I think. If you got a dirt block that turns into grass, and you log off shortly after, it will be a Dirt block once you come back into the game. It's not something that normal grass blocks will do though. It seems to be a lot better since the game went live though :)
Thank you everyone for your replys and i just read somewhere that if the dirt is in a blue print it wont change. Ive taken the corner stone down for now regaurdless, but is this fct or fiction?
a newly grown grass from dirt will only stay grass as long as you are active on the area. once you leave the play far away and TP back you'll see :D

That's true. While a blueprint is in progress, the dirt to grass evolution is stopped for the duration of the construction.

But once the blueprint is complete, the cornerstone deactivates and exposed dirt will become grass as normal.

This is done so you don't have to go replacing exposed dirt blocks that are needed by the blueprint. The Colossal Castle, the Treehouse, and the Fort, among others, are blueoprints that make you place dirt blocks that get covered eventually.

And no, grass blocks do not revert to dirt. Ever.

Also, and unlike what you'd expect, Rocky Dirt doesn't turn into Savannah Grass. If you remove Savannah grass, and you don't like the exposed Rocky dirt blocks, you will have to remove and replace them one by one.
