Is there a way to stop lava from hardening?

I want a lava feature in my base but it keeps turning into hardened lava..

You have to use more lava. It takes 2 deep to keep it warm enough to stay liquid.

Funny those signs don't catch on fire being on the hot surface. I've also found that a pool like that works well with the hardened lava blocks.

For the OP... if you build a platform out of hardened lava blocks to fill with lava, that will (should) keep your lava in liquid form.

In your claim settings you can turn on fire protection. It will not burn things like that. xD
