Help with Chapter 4 Chamber 7

I am currently having an issue completing chapter 4, chamber 7 and would appriciate help, as it is probably me overlooking something.

At the moment I have the edgeless cube on the recepticle, changing the killer grid to no longer be in front of the blue portal and the cube is on the button opening the blue portal. I have attempted to use blue gel to jump through the blue portal, out the orange and onto the platform in the middle of the water but cannot get enough speed to make it to the platform. At best I fall on the button below the yellow portal.

I just got it! Let me explain:

Use the ceiling where the portal appears and the ground to keep bouncing up and down to gain speed! Before you go on a bouncing spree, shoot the cube with blue gel to make it respawn itself to make the portal appear and shoot you off!

You got blue gel. Two uses exist for this gel after you get the ball in its button. Look up where the blue portal ought to be. There is an icon hint.

How did you manage to pick up the sphere? I've been trying for ages, and even though I crouched and spammed E on the very edge of the platform I couldn't catch it. I think it might actually be a bug, because it gave me the "pick up" tip but I couldn't pick it up. Had to circumvent it with the noclip cheat :P

I sat there, looking at the icon hint and everything for a while. Realized what I had to do, and i facedesked so hard when I figured it out, but I had that feeling you get from zelda puzzles.

Raze, spray blue gel on the sphere when it comes out so that when it hits the backboard, it bounces towards you. Catch it. Then spray it with orange before putting it in place (otherwise it bounces out and you have to do it again). I actually figured out how to catch it but couldn't figure out how to get it to stay still until I watched a youtube video!

I also agree: there are a lot of very clever puzzles in the game.
