Down to just this one and stable citadel (I think that's the name) of the In The Beginning. I don't say this to brag. Believe me, I'm not smart (I know going to global achievements only a small percent has made it that far but still). It's more that being this close makes it extra annoying.
I know we need a connector up top to hold open the last forcefield as well as being able to get our recording self to the pressure plate by the fan to activate it.
I figured I can while recording get two connectors by dropping the top one down in the recording, but blocking the beam from the connector when playing it so the top one won't drop it down in real time.
But I seem to remember trying that and still no luck. I must be missing something.
I can't stand recorders either. I didn't mind the duplicator in the sequel though,
There are 2 sequences - the Setup and the Finish.
As you have stated, the goal of the Setup is to have the first connector on the other side of the gate and still have the second connector 'up top' (The physical 2nd connector needs to remain up there for the finish).
If you have the Setup done correctly, the connector should be linked to the Generator, the Receiver to release the 2nd connector and the far Receiver on the Left and you should be in the main area.
The Finish:
Hit Record
Pause before stepping on the plate
Step on the plate (releasing the ghost 2nd connector)
2nd Connector: Target 1st Connector, Energy Gate Receiver for the back area (where the 1st connector currently resides) & the Receiver that holds the Generator Gate Open.
Step on plate
The beams should be self supporting at this point.
Run into the court yard and find the beam that powers the Receiver that drops the 2nd connector. Stand in front of that to block it and pause.
Run through the purple gate and stand on the button powering the fan and pause.
Run back to the record and end the recording.
[Take a breath]
During playback:
Block the beam between the Generator and the 1st Connector. Unpause
Wait until the ghost stands in front of the beam from the first connector to the Receiver that drops the 2nd connector.
With this blocked by the ghost and the playback paused, go and stand on the button to open the gate to release the Generator beam.
[IMPORTANT} While still paused, go through the gate, pick up the 1st connector and connect it to the 1st Connector's Ghost and the physical 2nd connector still up on the 2nd story. If you place it correctly to the right of the ghost first connector, you should be able to create a conflict that prevents the ghost's 1st connector connection with the receiver that drops the physical 2nd connector.
Unpause. If the physical 2nd connector drops, rewind and try a different placement.
When your ghost activates the fan, ride it up, grab the 2nd connector, place it on the button and get the sigil.
Hope this helps you out!
That one was driving me crazy. It looks like I sort of had the right idea. One challenge in it is getting the setup.
I.e. getting the connector on the other side of the first gate then connected to the top receiver , second gate receiver and the beam source as well as also getting yourself back into the starting area all without triggering the top receiver.
I think I ended up using the ghost of one to block the beam of the 'real' one while also holding open the door with ghost me standing on the plate so I could still get out but with the first connector connecting to the right places but not triggering everything in playback mode
Even explaining it is hard :(.
Thank you again :).
Everybody who wants to know more about this "cheat", here are some hints:
1) The jammer needed is located in the puzzle "Blocked"
2) You have to bring it up on that higher walkway using the fan. Now you can see the plasma-wall of "DayDream" which has to be jammed
3) You can't get out of "Blocked" now in an easy way; you'll need a box to get out
4) Do not put the box on the ground, but on the low piles of the fence, then you are able to jump over the fence
And now you can do "DayDream" the easy way!
