Deus ex is part RPG, part Adventure, part Stealth Game and part Action Shooter.
What you want is a action game.
I think a pure FPS like Hard Reset is more your kind of game.

Personally, I'm coming to the end of my second playthrough and both times have not really gone for any of the 'big' weapons like rocket launcher and heavy machne gun. There's also other guns I've not used, like the PEPS gun - just didn't like how it worked !!
My main gun througout has been the combat rifle so tried to collect loads of ammo for that. Also kept the pistol as I use that, with silencer attached, to silent snipe (as I didn't have the silent-sniper DLC, though just bought it for 29p !!). At one point I had 200 spare pistol ammo, but now only 50 as I wanted the space for other things. I've also stocked up on loads of boost bars this time. Current weapons I have are: combat-rifle, pistol, sniper (for when the pistol just won't do), machine-pistol and laser rifle. I've also got 15 Typhoon waiting to be used.
What I would add is that once back in Detroit the storyline does move along at quite a pace. For one thing, there are not as many side-missions to distract you. The China missions are a bit of a pain as you have to travel from one district to another. But I would say play through til you are back in Detriot and then see if it grabs you then.
i think it may of been cover in dlc
you can go through the tutoral with out harming a fly. Try that out (also u have to if u going for the pacific achevement)
