For souls like game it needs souls like try at bosses
Most souls like game has option to just reenter the boss fight so you can try again.

After dying at the final boss. I did not feel like running thru entire campaign building up gears and resources and blessings just to die again. Definitely needs a save or respawn point with exact loadouts before entering. The fun is trying to kill the boss not grid to fail over and over.

Feature for Ironman is optional for those who do want to restart over.

That's definitely the plan - we're currently working on save/load and that will replace the checkpoint system we're using. The Shrines are where the game will auto-save and we plan on putting one near every boss. The intention is that you shouldn't have to fight any groups of enemies before fighting a boss again if you want.

Even now, in the demo, there is a checkpoint called Fallen Paladin that puts you right outside the boss arena and you can fight the boss again right away, though of course as you say you'd lose your load out.

I'm aware of check points but as I said losing load outs and gears make a difference in the fight.

Save and load is a good idea touching shrine.
