hello,

have you tried to restart Steam? or completely shutdown Steam and delete that file afterwards?

Hi, actually yeah. Tried even restarting Windows and stopping Steam services from running. Still no luck. :(

Are you trying to start a new game too?

The folder contains a nameless directory which you have to take ownership of in security settings in order to have the permission to delete. Basically it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Just figured out how to deal with it but it's still a pain for the uninitiated.

Hit up CMD and navigate to your steamapps\common folder using the cd command, then you should be able to use this command:

rd /S Aragami
to permanently delete the folder and all its weird subdirectories.

I can help out if you have issues with getting this to work.

This has caused more headaches... So, when you delete this folder, it goes into the Recycle Bin, but cannot be removed from there (It also cannot be restored to the original location.)
This means you can't empty your recycle bin because it tries to empty all of it, and if any file cannot be removed, it doesn't remove any of them.

The first time this happened, running a checkdisk (On Win7: Drive>Properties>Tools>Check Now>Start(Automatically fix file system errors checked) fixed it so that I could remove the deleted folder from the Recycle Bin. But, every time you run the game, it recreates this folder. So, I deleted it again, and now that trick doesn't work for some reason.

So, I am stuck. I am contacting LinceWorks, and Maximum Games. Will keep you posted.

btw
rd /s Aragmi
didn't work for me.

I found a solution using the 7-zip program in this thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/280160/discussions/0/4577340984550210463/#c3203748171385348800

This has worked for others, and knowing that 7-zip handles illegal filenames well makes me believe it would have worked for me, too.

Short version: Install 7-zip. Use it to browse to the folder, rename it, then delete it.

This is much easier than the solution I actually used...

Old post, but I've done this for another game.

Download the game again if uninstalled
Enable steam cloud if disabled
Launch the game
Delete folder while game is running

Hope this helps anyone else facing the problem

Interesting. I would have never thought of this. I don't see how it would work, but I haven't tested it. If anyone else tries this, please confirm whether it works for you.
