Best way to locate scrolls?

Is there a sound when a scroll is nearby or a specific type of place they are usually found in? Levels are getting much much bigger later on and i feel a bit clueless when it comes to finding scrolls. Wouldn't mind if only they weren't providing skill points.

It's the third tier of Kurosu (the bird) ability; the skill shows all hidden scrolls around you. :)

Like near me or around the whole level?

It's been a while since I had to find scrolls, but if I remember correclty I think they will appear around the whole level when you show the objective.

Yep, it's across the whole level.
