How can I set this up for 2D mode?

as is above, I'm trying to wrap my head around the included guide but I'm a bit dense, is there a helpful tutorial video I could be directed to?

Error when using ".txt" and ".png" files.

When I try to drag these types of files from Explorer to my project, my program crashes (when using ".txt") or does not respond (when using ".png"). I tried reinstalling it, but even that did not help. Can you please help me solve this problem?
