"Smurfing" and Matchmaking problem in this game.
After "playing" some ranked matches I noticed two main problems that made it 80% of the time frustrating and unplayable.

Matchmaking being the worst, you can be a learning beginner and the game ends up choosing a higher level and rank player to massacre you. Simple as that.

"Smurfing" is also another one, in addition to the matchmaking one, but this one being intentionally done by the opponent. Note: I called it Smurfing due the lack of a better word, i'll explain the situation below.

So basically I've encountered a lot of high level/rank players (most with a full legendary/orange team), intentionally losing matches to lower their rank.
So it became pretty common to find a match where my team is lvl 15 and the opponent is lvl 25 to 30 full legendary.
And it happens a lot, over and over again, resulting in massacre or desertion of matches, making progression as painful as it is.

Its a rare thing to actually play a match with a more even opponent, the only moments its a fun and competitive match.

So there it is, the two problems I noticed that makes this game very frustrating and unplayable.

Yes, the matchmaking in this demo/beta is not good, it's horrible. The only thing you can do is upgrade your team as much as possible to avoid this, this is not a perfect solution, but it works.

I only started playing ranked when my team was all orange level 25. And yes, most of the time I found teams much weaker than mine, it only started to improve when I reached the world ranking.

I don't know why you tried go online if your team is that weak, you have bots of lvl 20-25-30 that you can play and because of that gap of lvl IA it will be interesting for you. I think the most logic thing will be restrinc to a minimum lvl of the team to go online for can get de Legendary Difficulty.

So Ranks and Matchmaking wouldnt make much sense, as in your logic ranked mode would be an exclusively End-game mode, and its not, it covers all levels.
So rankless people would either be a high end legendary player, or a total noob trying to rank, level, and earn stars.
Matchmaking exists in ranked mode also for balancing purposes as it does in many other games, and all Im saying is that its totally broken as it is, it definitely was not supposed to work like that, and its taking away the joy of a fair competition.

Dude, there are 2000 people playing, a month ago there were 6000, what do you expect from a demo? 90% of the people who play have more than 20 hours of playing the game, you can't expect me to match you with a low rank, I should have done that when the demo came out. And besides, the game has RPG elements with the statistics, it will never be a competitive game like Valorant, LOL or any other.

I only play the online mode with preconceived equal teams, its much more fun than playing against ranked tryharders

I think the purpose of a beta is mainly to familiarise yourself with the gameplay and mechanics I don't see the point of spending your life farming when everything gonna be reset to 0 when it's officially released

If you want to get the beta presents you have to farm. Or you wont be able to beat the hardest difficulty for the last present.

I facec the same problem, first game I played from the inazuma franchise and oh boy, after 2 weeks of the beta release I got into multiplayer and it was just pure torture. But you have to get through, after that it becomes a lot better. Buy items, rank up the players' spirits, and then u will have a better time. I faced the same issue, but now midway in continental rank
