Dice Dimensions Event & Endless Mode Closed Beta

Hello dice people, I hope you're well and that you are ready for some dice rolling!

Dice Dimensions

Dice Dimensions is a Steam event featuring ~60 games where dice is a main feature. There will be demos to check out, discounts, and we'll be featured as a daily deal for the first 24 hours of the event. Make sure to check out other games; lots of fun stuff is out there from very talented people :)
Start Date: 5th of March 19:00 CET
End Date: 12th of March 19:00 CET

LiveStream on the latest version of PMD

Today (4th of March) at 19:00 CET, I will be streaming from the Steam page a prerecorded run of the latest version (although not using all the available content), starting an endless mode run and clearing the first 8 stages.
The stream will be up for the majority of the event, and I might pop by in the chat to say hi :)

Endless mode beta

As promised :D I can also mention that I strongly believe I will be in time for the full release; of course, life might come in the way, but I will come back with a date around the end of April.

When

I will start to distribute keys after the Dice Dimensions event is over.

Content

In the beta, endless mode is available, as well as separated leaderboards. There will be balancing, QoL features, and you will also get to fight some new bosses! A full patch note will be released after the event is over.

How to access

Access is given in discord[discord.com] so make sure to join if you haven't already; the spots are limited!

Please implement an adjustable FPS lock.

I played the demo for the first time today and was wondering why - about a minute into the tutorial - I could hear my PC fans spooling up but not back down a few seconds later like usual when the PC is doing some intensive task. Apparently the game was running at over 1100 FPS (as displayed by the Steam FPS overlay), which is just extremely unnecessary for this type of game and I couldn't find a way in the options menu to set a max frame rate or even to enable V-Sync. Features

Animations have been added between all the different views
New content has been added, 3 of them being references to games that inspired me, let's see if you can find them all :D
Some content has been removed, and some content from the playtest has been revived!
I've done some balancing, please read the description of the relics you already know as they might have changed!
The tutorial has been improved

Bug fixes

Fixed that a Set Value modifier could be wasted on a dice face that already has that value
Fixed a (nasty) bug where, during exceptionnal conditions, would throw you back to the previous boss instead of your current round when reloading the run
Fixed a bug where sometimes a seethrough face would show the wrong value
The stat "Dice rolled" was incorrect, it has been fixed
Fixed that in some instances of using negative dice, negative money was being given
Fixed that the relic Golden Cutlery was accounting for dice faces not in the scoring combination
Fixed that the relic Ladder would sometime give a higher bonus than it should
Fixed that playing a run on the same seed but with different cups would give different bosses
Fixed some visual artifacts
Fixed that the setting "Show text instead of pips" would not apply to face modifiers

Balancing

The yellow die has been reworked to work like so: It will give you between $1 and $Value with a 50% chance rate, Max $20
Changed the rarity of some relics
Balanced some relics

QoL

Added a button to the slots to bring all the dice from your hand there
The shop will not show duplicate relics anymore
Tried to improve the wording on some relics

Misc

Added more variety to the Value Modifiers, from +1,+2,+3,+5,+10 to +1,+2,...,+9,+10
Added a warning to prevent players from losing a saved run when clicking on the tutorial button
New players have now the option to skip the tutorial, but are invited to try it with a pop
up the first time they start a run
Added stats for consumable used and obtained at the end of a run
Added some SFX

Demo update and leaderboards reset: 2025-01-25

Hello and best wishes for 2025!

The demo for Pip My Dice will get an update to rotate some of the content and fix some bugs. The official date is the 25th of January. I will post the details of the update in another event

Leaderboards reset

Because of the content being updated, the yellow die bug being patched, etc., the leaderboards will be reset in all categories! You will also not be able to finish a run that you started on the previous version for obvious reasons. So make sure to finish your run before the update!
I will put the previous build on a beta branch for those of you who still want to play with the current version of the yellow die, with leaderboards disabled.

Release Date

Unfortunately, I have pushed back the full game release to Q2 2025 :c I want to provide you with the best experience, and within the given timeframe, it's not possible.
I hope you understand, being a solo dev with a full-time job to pay the bills is not a walk in the park!

Endless mode

I know that some of you are dying for endless mode; that's why I'll host a closed beta, probably in early March, for you to test it out and give feedback on, as well as other features. Reroll broken?

Love this game, but I've encountered a bug that doesn't allow me to reroll my dice. Sometimes quitting the game and restarting works, but usually I just have to play whatever the first roll is. This usually happens every game I play.

Fantastic game!

Played the demo a few times and so far I reached the fifth boss but lost in the final round. I'm learning the mechanics and I'm having a lot of fun! This game is very well made and has a friendly user interface. The game also has a lot of depth. Looking forward to the full version, take my money!

Some suggestions

After playing the demo for a while, I have some suggestions: Show the next stage when in the store. It has strategic importance how many stages there are left to play and if the next stage will be a boss, for example. While playing a stage, I usually don't pay attention to it, so for me, it would be a considerable quality of life improvement. When in a stage, you can click on a die, and it even shows a little selection fame. Another quality of live improvement would be to preselect this die ...
