anyone have the alternate soundtrack?

the original cd copy of the game i had had a very different soundtrack that i liked more than the one included with this version of the game. is anyone with an original copy of the game willing to upload it?

If you still have the original discs, it's on disc 2, under \Data\Sounds\Ambience (assuming it's the same disc set we're talking about). You should be able to just drag and drop the files into the corresponding location in the Steam version, apply the music patch, and it should work.

Edit: according to a YouTube comment, there are two versions of the soundtracks, the original release and the worldwide release (this one). It'd be nice if TopWare can find the original version and add it as a free DLC, though apparently it's published by a different company, so who knows if they can actually give the files.

Edit 2: Downloaded the 2002 demo, it seems to have entirely different music from the other two versions as well. Not very interesting, sounds like MIDI. But a couple of tracks has the album name as "Dragon with no Head", which I find amusing.

Edit 3: 2004 demo appears to have 13 of the original tracks, out of 18 total. This demo was published by Zuxxez, which means TopWare should be able to distribute the files.

unfortunately i lost my copy of the game long ago. i had considered downloading the version of the game with the soundtrack i want just for the music files but all of the torrents are dead

Try the demo on FilePlanet[www.fileplanet.com]. It should have 13/18 of the original tracks.

Just noticed that steam version have different soundtrack, while game already had two versions of OST... But previous two i liked much more (my favorite is from oldest Akella release), wanted get files of Zuxxez version from steam, but found there unknown for me tracks and confused now

The second playlist has some of the soundtrack I remember. The "DF NEW" tracks were the ones I heard in my version of the game. Unfortunately I don't recognize the other tracks
