Map layout makes no sense (courtyard).
First of all, I love Clock Tower and wish for the success of this game and the franchise.

However I discovered a glaring issue with the in-game map layout, I realised this when I looked online to help me map out the actual building in my head.

I found the official map online and then started to visualise and compare the official map with the in-game layout and realised there isn't one courtyard in the middle, but 2 identical courtyards north and south of the building...

Rather than go through a long-winded explanation, all I'll say is the hole in the wall at the start of the game is on the wrong side of the wall, likewise the big metal door found in the south hallway is on the wrong side too.

The problem persists even if you completely disregard the official map, it's still an area that connects weirdly, you can't make sense of it by thinking from a different perspective either, basically there is no middle, just a dimensional wrap around that connects the north with the south.

I'm not sure how to fix this without messing up something else as a consequence, the simplest and cleanest way would be to move the hole and door to the correct side and have it semi-transparent so you know it's there when you walk past.

That's if the developers can and want to fix it.

Remember that the game is randomised for layout with the room locations too.

When you change wings, the placement of the doors in the hallways are wrong : they should be at the foreground, not the background.
Note that the only game's assets for doors are at the side or back of a room leading to an illogical layout of the manor. :/

There should be no way to solve this. If you build a 3D model according to the map of Clock Tower, you will find that the corridor from the east wing to the west is also wrong, the door to the courtyard is in the opposite position, and the configuration of the west wing should also be opposite.

What do you mean? As in room locations are swapped around? Is that some kind of New Game + thing? Or is it some kind of glitch? Either way it's not about the rooms themselves, but more the pathways don't make sense.

You're both right, I just checked this and the door placement makes no sense, however you can get away with it if you imagine the rooms are lined up on the inner wall facing the courtyard and not the outer wall facing outside, which makes it that both the corridor and rooms are on the same side as each other, but of course that contradicts the official map...
EDIT: Actually, it still makes no sense, because the west corridor goes off in the wrong direction if you pretend the rooms are the same side as the south corridor, so yes the door is absolutely on the wrong side no matter what.
