Looks like the SNES Front Mission
is it me or does this look like the side scroller front mission game (or at least the mech sprite)

(not the rpg based one, the one that has a simialir play style as the contra games)

yeah gun hazard i thought so also
that game was sick (except for the parts where you were the little dude trudging through buildings outside the mech)

i thought so XD, couldn't remember the full name of FM:Gun Hazard, but i was close enough :P
i never got past the 1st level on FM:GH :P, i never could keep interested in it long enough :(

i think what reminded me of the game was mainly just the mech and its green army camo colour same as its founding game XD

Did any of you actually read the store page for this?

They clearly state:
GIGANTIC ARMY is a heartfelt homage to 16-bit era mech shooters such as Cybernator / Assault Suits Valken, Metal Warriors, and Front Mission: Gun Hazard, developed by the studio behind the acclaimed shooter SATAZIUS.

Imo Closest to: SNES ''Cybernator''. And now im going all nostalgic, lol.

There is an english version for gun hazard I have it, that game is amazing and easily outstrips like-minded games such as cybernator and metalwarriors (though metal warriors is easily by second favorite) but yeah, I have english gun hazard and just played it recently thats why I checked out this game to begin with.

Yeah, definitely reminds me of a modern Metal Warriors. I'm excited to play!

I was just about to post that this game looks a lot like Front Mission Gun Hazard, which was easily one of the best SNES games for that system, too bad in never came stateside. It was the perfect combo of RPG and sidescrolling shooter. I've been looking for something as good as that game and never found it, if anyone has any suggestions I'm listening.

It's more of Metroidvania than mech shooter, but Valdis Story oughta fit nicely. It has really good action, but also very good RPG mechanics (ie builds, stats, and skill trees that make quite a difference, and there are a bunch you can try out).
The mech design, look, feel, even the way it dashes and jumps look 100% like Cybernator from Konami for SNES.

It's an homage to to the Assault Suits games which were released in the US as Target Earth (Leynos) and Cybernator (Valken) from NCS/Masaya (published by Dreamworks and Konami in the west respectively).

Metal Warriors was also published by Konami but made by LucasArts in the same style as Cybernator/Valken, making it kind of an unofficial followup.

Gun Hazard was made largely by the same team responsible for Cybernator/Valken.

There was also a Leynos 2 which largely serves as the inspiration for the other Assault Suits style indie game, Armored Hunter Gunhound EX.

It's a tangled web I know. :P
