No First Person?
I really liked the previous game, and this new one looks cool. But is this one entirely in 3rd person, or is there an option to play in 1st person like the previous game? I'd really like to be able to play this in 1st person like the prior game if possible. Or if you're seeing this post devs and if it's at all possible to add the option to play in first person in a future update I would really love that.

I did a little reading on this, and it sounds like they're aware of how much we all hate it, but haven't done anything yet. I've seen them reply to identical discussions like this, so all we can do is just hope they correct this horrible mistake. I don't mind playing third person games, but first person is superior. I can't even imagine playing the first one in third person.

Ahh I see. I hope they do something about it because I'm honestly not even sure why they decided to change it when the previous game was so fun and played perfectly in 1st person. I like 3rd person games too and do think some games work better in 3rd person and some work better in 1st person, but switching it to 3rd person the sequel like this was just a terrible idea when the game before this was perfect as it was. I'll definitely be waiting to buy this until they hopefully add the option to change it.

Since yall be making the same thread over and over lemme copy paste my response.

After playing this with a friend
im 100% convinced 3rd person view works perfect for this game
theres a LOT of platforming in this game and its not doable in first person
the environment/traversing/animations are all better on 3rd person
grapplehooking/lassoing/dodging
All of it is made for it

IF They add a 1st person optional view and you use it, imo it will take away the entire charm of the game

i LOVE first person type of games and loved that in the first game but this game is perfected on 3rd person, trust me if they even add it as optional it wont feel as good and you will miss out on a a lot.

give it a try, open your mind a little bit.

To give a different view, part of the magic for me was when in 1st person the immersion aspect. Yeah I tried and failed those jumps countless, multiple, times, but when you got that boost or swing right it was genuinely brilliant. You felt like you were truly traversing an alien planet with style sometimes. The planet was savage but you kept going. 3rd person may work great but should we not at least have the option?

I didn't seen any threads mentioning the lack of first person gameplay, although I didn't really look far past the 1st or 2nd page of discussions. But thanks for your input I suppose. I'm not saying the 3rd person is bad. I'm just saying, why change it when it didn't need to be changed?

My thoughts exactly.
Come on y'all ! It's not that of a problem. You get used to it quite quickly and the animations of your character really add a lot to the fun ! They did a great job on those.

And implementing a first person view in a game designer to be in third or vice versa is a Time consuming process.

Not if they used the infrastructure of the first game to implement it. It's not that any of us have a real issue with 3rd person games, as they stated, but it's the fact that it's a major departure from one of the nuances that made the first game so unique.

I mean, any of you saying 1st person wouldn't work, clearly didn't play the first game... Because it all played around the advantages and challenges that came with that. It'd be like them making a 1st person assassin's Creed all of a sudden, without any warning to the established fanbase.

I appreciate that they did what they could with the animations to make it cute n amusing, but it feels more like no man's sky than it's predecessor now, n that's a real let down for those of us who enjoyed the original.

You said it perfectly. I completely agree with you on that. It's what made the first game so fun and interesting. And seeing it be changed just feels like whiplash.

Just play the first game.

Dumb! The first was fun. I can't get into 3rd person games. Absolutely will not be buying this one.

is perfect on 3rd person

Seems like people are not reading anything. Nobody said it was bad in 3rd person, still we want to give feedback to the devs that we are disappointed it's not playable in first person like the first game. That's all.

The first one was fun, I don't even understand why the second ones third-person isn't simply an option added to a first-person. It is not a jump heavy game, first-person makes you allot more in the game then third-person.

I very much agree with you there!
