no First Person?
I loved the first game to bits, but this game seeming to be 3rd person kinda.. makes it lose some of its charm

1st Person mode please!
I felt the same way at first, but I think the switching outfits and the animations of walking on water or being thrown around and such have a hilarious charm to it. I loved the fps of the first one, but loving the 3rd person. But that is IMO of course.

I wouldn't trade first person for those funny animations :)
Yah I'll still play it. But wish it was first person like journey to savage planet.... I don't understand why they changed it
i own the 1st game but will probably skip this one due to forced 3rd person. I do no care for it.

Yeah, I'm still having a lot of fun with it. But you're right, the FPS view was awesome in the first one.
I was playing local coop at a friend's house and at first I was disappointed in the third person view, I actually think it works better. The animations are great and it's fun seeing your character react to the world

After playing this with a friend
im 100% convinced 3rd person view works perfect for this game
theres a LOT of platforming in this game and its not doable in first person
the environment/traversing/animations are all better on 3rd person
grapplehooking/lassoing/dodging
All of it is made for it

IF They add a 1st person optional view and you use it, imo it will take away the entire charm of the game
It's understandable to have an artistic perspective, I would ask you give the player the option. It may come to pass that it IS doable in first person and that challenge will invite poeple towards it.

I do hope they add 1st person
im always up for optional features
but im telling you if they do and you stick entirely to it, it will be against their vision and might end up not liking it as much as you would have normally.

I Was excited to play this game and bought it as soon as it was available. Being a huge fan of the first game finishing it to 100%. As I booted up the game I was ready to experience a new world in the series. Having just finished a play thought of the first I was unhappy with the change in perspective to the third person view. Being zoomed out from the first person perspective left me feeling detached and less engaged with the alien world I was faced with. Feeling more like playing with a doll in a play set then the investigator of a strange and otherworldly planet. Another odd thing I noticed was the lack of a reload for the gun adding to the detachment from the feeling that I was the character and not just directing a drone through a world. After a short 20m of play I decided that it was not worth my time and put in for a refund. May be silly but the detachment for me took this game from a day one (Full launch Price) buy. To a maybe if I feel like getting around to it in a few years at a reduced cost for my reduced interest
Someone on the dev team programmed a funny run, so you're forced to do that. This sequel has none of the charm and enjoyment of the first game IMO. Just feels like a grind.

counterpoint: the animations make the movement (to me at least) feel sluggish and super floaty. I tried it on gamepass and even just unlocking double jump felt bad to me. the silly animations are just *too* over the top. the first one was unique and funny without needing to go over-the-top cartoony in animation. The "vision" you're talking about is preventing me, a fan of the first game, from being able to enjoy this sequel.

that is an opinion for sure.
you can have it
i personally think all the stupid over the top stuff is what made me enjoy the first game and they expanded on it in this game
dont see any difference between it and the first one in terms of "Floaty" or "Sluggish" tbh
