Is there a way to change resolution?
I have a 1920x1080 monitor. The game is 640x480 in windowed mode so, if I toggle Fullscreen, there's a distortion to the graphics since it's not the same aspect ratio. In windowed mode, it's too small for me to see stuff; in fullscreen, it's distorted.

I also went and set my desktop to 1280x960 (twice the normal resolution of the game) so fullscreen wouldn't be distorted. For some reason, it ignores my desktop resolution when I toggle fullscreen and still goes into a distorted 1920x1080 view.

I can't play the game under these circumstances, but I'd like to. Does anyone know a way to resolve this?

I'm afraid not. RPGmaker VX: Ace only supports up to that resolution because of the sprite size. I guess the only real way around this is if the developer had some sort of script or codec integrated within the development process.

Can't get around that hard coding without breaking EULA

Anyluck with Borderless Gaming, which has a way to draw the window size you want? It's free on github and the Steam version is a dev donation.

Hey there! I had never heard of this program, but I just bought it on Steam and gave it a try. I was able to set Skyborn to 1280x960, which keeps the windowed aspect ratio on my 1920x1080 monitor without it being too small in its native windowed mode or distorted in its native full-screen mode.

So yes, it works! Now I can play this! Woohoo!

Is this really working for peeps? Easy to use? Recommend sticky for others who might also have display problems?

Yep really easy, works on most games/applications.
Edit: I did have to toggle Skyborn's Fullscreen twice for it make the borderless window size I made.

Here's the official How-To: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=488470050
  • Not mentioned is once a game/app is favorited, you can choose "Set Window Size" to draw the preferred size. You may have to restart the game to see the effects.

  • "disable steam integration" has been removed, so one can run just the exe file)

Happy Borderless Sky Gaming :skybornhappy:
