Checkpoints not saving or too far apart

Hello,

I really like this game but it seems the majority of my play time is redoing parts I already did. I dont like how there isn't a save button so I can start the next at the same place I was before. I made it all the way to the falling blocks in the ice cave and called it a night. When I start from previous checkpoint I am waaaay back were I dont even have the rocket boots yet! what the hell! Am I missing something? Why do I have to re do this all over again. It's really ruining this awesome game for me. Is this how the game is supposed to be?? I really do like the atmosphere of this game but don't like spending an hour replaying what I already did......

Hi. That sounds like an error in the saving system. Have you encountered other instances where you find a checkpoint and then get sent way back?

In this instance you should had been spawned on another map. Perhaps you could open the map from the menu directly?

Yes! It seems like almost every checkpoint doesn'y save. I made it all the way to the airship that brings you to the ice cave and when i started the next day it was back to the checkpoint to were you get challenged to complete the next part without the using grappling hook.and other istances aswell.I'm hesitant to start from the menu directly because I was already past the falling blocks in the ice cave and the ice cave is still unlocked in level select. I dunno.. The game is great I just dont like re-doing things I already did..it's really ruined the atmosphere of game for me. thanks for your reply.

Sorry for digging this up from the graveyard ;) My game doesn't seem to be saving at all. The checkpoints work well and I don't get sent back too far but as soon as I leave the game or even quit to main menu it stops working.
