Is Lu Bu's Halberd the best secondary weapon in the whole game?
The God-Mode buff you get when change the weapon is broken, even with 1 star compatibility you become a meat grinder, is there any other secondary weapon better than the halberd?

If you mean specifically the switch-into buffs, without actually using the sub beyond the power up, only 10 or so weapons have those, and Halberd provides the biggest numbers. Otherwise, it depends on the play style.

The halberd is sure one of the best weapon in the game as far as EX attacks are not concerned. The buff is just godly, however I think that the throwing knifes are the best weapons in the game (or at least as a secondary weapon). The range and the attack speed are amazing, and with the righ attributes, it can clean any kind of crowd in a few seconds – even in Ultimate difficulty with a level 1 character.

Still, so far I have not tried all the weapons but from what I have tried, I can say that the halberd and the throwing knifes are top class.

As much as I love TK's, the above applies to the vast of majority of the weapons in the game. In DW8 elements are king. Without the elements, Knives have mostly meter build-up speed going for them, and those can be achieved through a proper skill combination and use of affinity system. And weapon has to be exceptionally awkward in order to be "bad" with elements on.

My main character is Wang Yuanji, so i dont need to carry the knives as secondary weapon, hehe.

It's definitely one of the best, if not the best, early on given the speed buff upon switching weapons and its higher than average damage. However, after you unlock the ability to forge weapons, just about any weapon can be customized into the best for your needs.
In raw power, it certainly seems to be *the* strongest weapon. I must admit that I've not thoroughly used some of the weapons out there. The staff, dual hookblades and throwing knifes (Especially with Slash and Thunder effects) are some of my own personal honorary mentions though.

Minus the "seems" - it indeed does have the highest base damage in any given rank.

I actually kind of cheated, because I just used a dual-halberd set-up to unlock Cao Ren, Da Qiao and Diao Chan's 5th weapons on my very first run (because they would be impossibly hard to unlock otherwise under those conditions). The weapon-swap buff just makes it so overpowered in comparison to other weapons. But unless you're trying to unlock stuff, I would just stick to characters' ex. weapons to keep variety going.

You're not the only one guilty of doing this. lol Some characters kill extremely slowly with their EX weapons, which puts you at a disadvantage when trying to unlock their 5 and 6 star weapons since most of those challenges are time restricted.
