That covers everything, I think.
Those are actually the default bindings you're supposed to get when you first start the game with an X360 controller connected.
Huh, strange. I had to do a bit of fiddling before I got that set-up. But I got the game in June, and several patches have been released since, one of which probably fixed that whole mess.
Having several control setup issues with the game.
I'm using a wireless Xbox 360 controller for Windows.
I've read some of the controller issue threads here, and my problem is the same, as in: the game doesn't fully register my controller.
I can manually rebind the buttons, but as soon as I restart the game all settings are gone.
I've heard disabling HIDs in the control panel might be a solution. However, it doesn't help that most of the listed HIDs aren't properly named, so I don't even know what I'm disabling.
REBIND SETTINGS:
As for the settings not saving, I thought it might have to do with my Steam Library being located on a different HD partition (D:), whereas the game's config files are located C:\Users\Username\Documents\TecmoKoei
If that's the cause of the issue, how can I safely relocate the Documents folder?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers
It isn't the cause. I'm running all my Steam games off of a different drive and I even have the users' documents located on yet another drive. (It's easier for backup purposes.)
Yes, I assumed it was unlikely to be the cause of it, thank you for confirming!
Intel i7-4700HQ quad-core CPU
Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
16 GB DDR3 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M, 4 GB VRAM
Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories 1.2 driver
Interesting.
I'm using a plain wired X360 controller with only the default Microsoft drivers installed. I also never had any controller remapping or emulation software installed. And I don't have any Razer crapware stinking up my list of HID game controllers.
Perhaps your situation is different for any one of these?
Stick with these the default bindings. I have been using this exact control setup since DW2 in 2000. Albeit with less features back then it has never changed.

Props to him!
And thanks for the button layout, RiO!
Obviously you also shouldn't forget to select the "Save/Load" option in the menu. Thought the game would save my controller settings automatically, which, apparently, it didn't.
how/why are the controls so different than the xbox and playstation versions ive played for the last 10 years? if the game was designed for a console, why are the buttons so different? and clunky. (im using a 360 controller on my PC as i have on dozens of games)
sure, my computer is fast and the game looks far better than any version ive had on console, but id rather smooth controls over pretty graphics.
thanks for letting me vent :)
ill try remapping the buttons. or maybe an xbox One controller will work better.
