[Wu story, normal] Stuck on battle of Fan castle.

Anyone got tips? I'm playing as Lu Meng with the best weapons that I've found so far in my playtime, which isn't a lot since Wu is my first story mode. So I'm probably only like 7 or 8 maps in.

I can't figure out how to win this battle. I have tried giving up on the flood gates and trying to defend Cao Ren, but we got overwhelmed. There must have been at least six or seven enemy officers upon us.

I tried defending the flood gates, but the enemy officers still made a beeline for Cao Ren so again I died while trying to keep the enemy out of the castle. Meanwhile the other guy that can't die (Pa Zhang I believe) was pretty close to reaching Guan Yu on his own so it's likely he would have died on his own back there regardless.

Do I just move over to another storyline? My impression is that my weapons are very poor. It takes a long time to take out enemy officers, extremely long. I have a Mistcleaver but that's about it.

The Fan castle map's scenarios are kind of hard for all factions. It requires you to move and tap those objectives. Each missed objective snowballs you into an ever worse disadvantage to the point where you'll no longer be able to hold your ground, no matter what you do.

If you can't handle it yet, I'd recommend dipping into the other storylines or ambition mode for a bit. Better weapons and additional skill levels dramatically improve your odds when they enable you to ploy through enemies and finish off officers that much faster to actually be able to reach and fullfill the objectives the scenario gives you.

I'd recommend moving to the shu story line, it is typically the easiest to complete for me. Then move back to wu.

I have the same issue on my ps3. Best thing you can do is to level up more for that character and get better weapon. then go back to that stage. Just move on to other story line then come back later.
