Any fast gold or exp farming methods?
I know the Baidi Castle EXP glitch from DW8 was patched in DW8 Xtreme Legends. Is there still another EXP or Gold farming exploit that exists in this game? I know of the gold grind through bodyguard skills in Ambition mode, but I was wondering if there were other methods that are faster and more reliable/efficient for gaining gold and exp.

I'm trying to get all of the characters maxed out, but it's taking forever using the Academy after farming gold through the method I mentioned before.

*Note: I am aware of the Elephant farming method in Ambition Mode. I feel that the Bodyguard Affluence skill is a lot faster at farming obscenely large amounts of gold (300k+) in just 5-10 battles if you get lucky witht the reward multiplier.

I do not condone cheating or foul play. Sorry. Even if I did know of an exploit, I wouldn't use it nor reveal it. Part of the point of the game is to be a time sink and for you to earn everything eventually, not immediately. Taking short cuts defeats the purpose of the game.

I respect your opinion, but your opinion is completely irrelevant to the question on this discussion thread. For the record, I already played through everything the "normal" way- without grinding levels and items and gold. I didn't even go browsing through guides to figure out some of the obscure ways to get certain objectives to line up and such. Thanks for nothing.

If this had online play this would be understandable. But when it's singleplayer who cares how someone plays. Enjoyment factor of a game is all subjective reguardless of the games intentional purpose.

Pretty much this. I would normally be outraged at someone openly asking for information on exploits, but only for a multiplayer game. When you buy a single player game, you have the right to play however you damn please. It hurts no one.

This game has no protection at all against memory editing, so Cheat Engine should be able to do just about anything you want.

Actually, Panda is a better animal for this. Mainly because Elephant is guaranteed only if you invest 10k into the scouting mission, whereas Panda is guaranteed with the minimum investment of 1k. Of course, it's still slow.

Aren't Elephants guaranteed at 6k? And I'll try and see which of the two work best.

He still needs to man up. If you want to walk around invincible and one hit everything you've gotta have a massive inferiority complex.

That's jumping wayyy to conclusions with the "massive inferiority complex" comment, which is also irrelevant. My reasons for asking for gold exploits shouldn't matter (unless it's multi-player). The reasons for that have already been kindly explained by a few other comments prior. But for the record, it's because I want to get 100% completion for my borderline OCD lol.

Achievements are a social component to gaming beyond being an individual incentive. As far as I'm concerned that makes you a cheater and a liar to anyone looking at your Steam profile. If you can't earn a 100% achievement not only is there no point in cheating your way to one but it is completely pathetic and dishonest.

It's the same principle as grinding a dungeon in an mmorpg to stockpile on gold or items, and gain xp. Another example would be the many speedruns of countless games that use certain glitches/tricks to speed up the process. They are in no way doing anything to hurt others' gaming experience.

With that aside, the 100% completion i was referring was not the achievements.

I can easily get the last two. I just want all my characters to be maxed out like I have done in all my DW games in the past. That is what I meant by 100% completion.

It's still more profitable. Spending 1k on a 10k animal and getting 9k as a result vs spending 6k on a 14k one to get 8k in the end. I stil consider selling off materials and weapons to be my main source of gold, though (haven't tried the bodyguard thingy).

I see. I'll be doing that then xD hopefully I get good RNG on pandas with 4 good skills lol

Updated the name of the discussion because some people take it the wrong way. If I wanted to cheat, I'd get a trainer like that one person commented. I don't use trainers. I do it the old fashioned way: grind to gain. I simply wanted to know any tips or tricks that will help give me a more efficient exp/gold output.

Are the elephants from Yan Province really rare unless 6k gold is invested?

I always spend 1k on them and received returns fairly consistently, not 100% guarantee like pandas of course but the extra 4k-5k gold seems worth the gamble in my humble opinion.

Usually I send troops to Yan, do a short skirmish battle, picking up what meager weapons and materials there is then head home. I then immediately talk to the soldier, re-send troops and go skirmishing again. After maybe ten trips then I circle the whole village in the manner Q:ee has helpfully outlined.

Alrighty, since we're on the subject of actually doing the happy farm, here's the loop I'm using while watching something else.
  1. Have maxed out Barracks, Stables and Farm (latter - with a supervisor);
  2. Send troops to Yi province;
  3. Do a single Skirmish battle and gather whatever you can as fast as you can (possibly using the non-levelled character for a little bonus XP), then return to camp;
  4. Talk to the Barracks guy to get the Panda and whatver else the scouts have brought;
  5. Feed the animals at the stable with the cheapest forage until one or more of them is full to get the reward;
  6. Sell off any weapons you've gathered from the above steps to the Blacksmith;
  7. Talk to the Farmer for gold and then to your Farm supervisor for a random chance at materials;
  8. Sell off any animals and materials gathered through the above steps to the Merchant;
  9. Return to [2].
The idea is that the whole loop takes about 5 minutes, at most.

There's also a pretty good one for gem farming, if you're into weapon crafting, but it's considerably less relaxed.

Goodness xD I keep forgetting about the Stable and the Farm Officer. Thanks for the reminder :D

I guess I don't have as much good luck as you T_T 90% of the time I invested 1k, i got zip :P lol. but you're right that the gamble is worth it if you get it :D

If you do your runs on Ultimate difficulty you are guaranteed a return on your 1k gold investment, just completing a stage rewards you exactly 1k gold. There is also the weapon drops which on that difficulty yields you 3rd and 4th tier weapons, where each sell for more than 1k gold a piece depending on the amount of attributes it has.

So the Yan Province bet seems pretty safe to me.
