I bet it's more like DW8 sales somehow convinced them that they can shove low quality crap and still bring in the money. If they bring a PS3 port, I regret buying their DLCs. If they are going to treat PC customers as fools then they won't be getting my money. I paid about 150$ for DW8 and DLCs and Steam had the game on top of list in sales, with non-discounted prices, for weeks since release. I don't buy the argument that they aren't making enough for a good port.
The way I see it, the PC port of DW8E was probably already in production by the time post-mortem season for DW8XL rolled around. There's absolutely no way Koei of all companies could be agile enough to actually react to DW8XL sales with DW8E. Sure, they probably had an abort point somewhere in development where they'd check their sales expectations for DW8XL against reality, but apart from that, I don't think the full next gen port was ever on the table for this one.
If that is the case then ok but regardless the (hopefully) next game must be the PS4 port if not built for PC.
Yup, fully agreed. That's what I count on as well.
Not to get you too excited, but a little birdy revealed to me that the recent beta patch for DW8XL contained some very interesting changes. After checking on SteamDB's history it really did seem like there was over 1 GB worth of changed and/or added data in the .bin files that are used to store the game's models and textures...
