Playable characters in story/musou mode?

I have checked everywhere, but no information of how many characters are playable in story/musou mode?

I want to buy one but i need this info.

Maybe someone can give me more info on playable characters on each faction.

In dynasy warriors 6 you can only play 3 or 4 on each faction under story mode, it's such a complete let down.

Yup, the same as DW6.

Each stage is different. Depending on stage, anywhere from 2 to 5 options, and they are different each stage.

There are 82 playable characters and there are 5 different Factions plus Other.

not to mention story mode has the historic route for each faction

And then there is a what if route as in seeing the best outcome for each faction. basically winning that battle that changes everything. like if wei won at chi bi opening a different line of story.

I do miss the older style of story for each character but i think DW8 did it right on how you showcase it. sadly no voice narrater in english for someone reason then again i play this in english with japanese voicing since they almost had every bit of text voiced compared to english.

Ugh most of you failed to relay the important info.

So, each mission gives you mostly a choice between 3-4 characters (very rarely 2 and only once 1) and in next mission you will get to choose between a set of different 3-4 characters. Every character is available for at least one-two mission and around 70% for more than that. I say it's a very nice way of allowing player to try many different characters in a short period and a good way to make them interesting story-wise.

Most characters are playable in story mode 5+ times. Very few are only playable in 1-2 Stages.
