What are your favorite Weapon Elemental Set-ups?
I've been going with Slash, Velocity, Flurry, Jubilation, Roar, Thorns.

What set-ups you enjoy using, and why?

I would also like to ask a few questions if possible.

Does anyone knows exactly how flurry works? I assume it's based on Chain... so.... lets say... I can Boost up my damage on the trash mobs, making my chain go really high...and then start comboing on the officer.... Or does flurry consider the amount of hits that specific unit has taken from you before computing the damage boost?

Does anyone knows how Slash works? Certain attacks have higher insta-death proc ?

This video nicely sums up the more outstanding attributes and setups and I build my loadout pretty close to how this guy does.

He explains Flurry and Slash in the video too. Basically, Flurry boosts your damage based on your chain amount regardless of hits a single enemy has sustained while Slash does exactly what it says but is randomised, more so on enemy officers.

Although I do lean more towards an extreme offense setup like so:
Cyclone, Frenzy, Aggression (Or Roar), Fury (Or Triumph), Slash, Velocity.

My every other setup such as defense, survivability, balance and combo-focus all closely follow the examples in the video.

Video is good, but the information about Cyclone is outdated since it was nerfed to only trigger on blocking enemies in XL. Because of this, I only run a few characters with elemental set ups and not all of them use cyclone.

I play the majority with a standard musou setup, flurry-frenzy-aggression-velocity-roar-jubilation. On Wang Yuanji I drop frenzy for induction so she can stagger crowds. She technically doesn't need velocity but I still use it because with her I just go for high combos for rage mode.

Also info, guys.

That video + the updates you posted were pretty helpful. Thanks.

About Frenzy (which both of you said you liked), I used to have it too... but then I died by 3 pokes of an enemy officer. (Not musou, not storm rush, not strong attack) ....he literally poked me 3 times with his spear in a stun lock combo of death.

That's when I decided to drop frenzy and put Thorn instead.

Anyone knows how much Frenzy boosts the damage?
I read somewhere that Flurry gives a maximum of 3x damage.
I wonder if frenzy is something like 2x damage with -1/2 defense.

Yep, video info is a tad outdated but most of it still holds true.

Frenzy is indeed a clutch, on Ultimate you will die in one or two hits but the AI is not too bright, avoiding getting hit isn't hard. Frenzy 10 gives your roughly 20% damage boost, the equivalent of Attack Boost 20 at a total of 40% damage boost. If you have maxed out your characters' attack via the Academy then pair that with select attributes and weapons, you will be churning out heaps amounts of damage.

I picked it simply because I want to go full raw damage output over anything else. Mostly to reap the maximum amount of rewards nestled in Ultimate difficulty, such as Gems. However for comboing and such, an extreme offense setup is too boring.

One other thing: I've yet to confirmed it but Flash + Cyclone seems to cause a OHKO. I reckon it varies between number of hits done in a charge attack.

These are my setups at the moment(most of these are glass cannons):

Must have: Frenzy, Slash, Roar, Velocity

Depending on the character style I use the last 2 slots to complement them

slow characters: cyclone and any dps elements(explosive, jolt, thunder, etc...)

characters with good musou: uplift and aggression

fast characters: flurry and uplift or any dps elements

for chaos mode: jubliation and fear

Combustion is by far the best and most interesting weapon element in the game.

If you want any decent game-play at all, do yourself a favor and never include Cyclone. This skill just straight up brakes the game's difficulty and provides zero challenge. I can see that it might be OK on some weapons that does not have multi-hit charge attacks, but when you do... Oh boy.
