I'd say get Invidia Inspector and Sweet FX. Invidia Inspector can add features to the game that the regular game option lack, like true AA and better AO, and Sweet FX adds better color or enhances the graphics to where they look MUCH better.
I say go on your Nvidia settings and find the games profile and force some features on V-Sync, AA and max performance but it wont make much difference because this game doesn't really need 1GB GPU due to flat landscapes, empty shell like characters with facial animations and NPC's that just work as one and not seperate. Its more of a CPU focused game due to the high amount of NPC's on the screen.

Turn off post effects. That thing kills framerate dead.

turn everything up but post effects. not because of framerates (atleast in my experience) but because it makes the game a bloomy blurry mess and in my opinion makes the visuals worse.
medium is also fine with post effects but it doesnt show a big jump from low
