As for a "starting point", hmm. I mean its as good a place as any I guess. I recommend it over 9. I haven't seen much from 10. What I did see I was not too impressed by.
IMO, the depth and replay value of this game and the fact that it runs on almost anything is just too good to ignore.
Not too much in the way of customisation though. The stories (there are 4 main ones, plus some side stuff) aren't really grindy. On normal difficult you can run them straight through without needing to grind at all pretty easily. The achievements on the other hand can be incredibly grindy (all DW game achievements are!).
The story so far seems understandable and it is just a really good game so far. If you like these kind of games or think you'd like some hack and slash - you'd enjoy it. Controller does work though you might need to relaunch it a time or two before it works for the first time (I had to but I also was doing 2 player with my wife). Cheers!
