Bug in Mt. Ding Jun (Shu campaign)

In this map you need to raid Mount Tiandong so you can charge down it and hit Xiahou Yuan without encountering his ballistae. I raid the mountain, go up to the top and see a large, empty wooden platform with a circle indicator in the middle of it. Stand in the indicator and it tells me to use a strong attack, which does nothing (even when on a horse, when it means jump). Neither does normal attack, musou attack or jumping on foot, which is what all of my allies are doing nonstop without clearing whatever invisible barrier is in place.

If I leave the area the allies can race down without a problem, but that doesn't help since Yuan won't go down without the player hitting him. This must be some recent problem because I'm not seeing anyone else having that trouble in this forum, but am I the only one it's happening to now?

Apparently some weapons are better at triggering a downhill rush than others. I eventually got Ma Dai down by making him use a quarterstaff to do a strong attack in the circle.

Answering months later, but I ran into this earlier today. The solution is to not be on a horse, stand still in the circle for like three seconds, and THEN press the strong attack button. Not very intuitive!
