(HELP) How is this version or the ps4 version differ from the "definitive" Nintendo Switch Edition?
Im trying to look for the info everywhere but none of the sites really explain the differences between the version.

Am I getting more content if I purchase the switch definitive version? or the content is exactly the same as the ps4 and pc version?

If so, do people who own the original xtreme legends gets a free upgrade to the definitive edition? Thanks!

I believe they're the same since NS version is basically a PC port of Complete Edition.

Complete Edition does NOT contain all dlc. Definitive Edition does. The switch version and the version sold on the microsoft store are the DE versions with included dlc, basically every other version is CE. "Complete Edition" only means it is the base game and the Xtreme Legends version in one game, nothing more.

If you want the game on pc, you're better off getting it from microsoft for 10 bucks cheaper than what its offered for on steam, and get all the dlc included along with it

As for the game itself, I'm pretty sure all versions are simply ports of the ps3 release, and they may or may not have ps4 quality character models. I know SW4-2 did, I don't recall if dw8 did as well, but it's always been a ps3 port, that's never changed.

Thank you! Exactly the reply i am looking for! Anyways, what kind of extra content does definitive edition offer that is not available in complete edition? Are these purely costume and weapons dlc, or are there extra story line or story expansions?

Also, there is no way I can get the definitive edition on steam other than buying the whole pack of dlc listed below the xl complete edition - which is hella expensive? and every singe of those dlc is offered in the definitive edition?

The definitive edition of the game does not exist on steam, so there is no way to get it. That's why I said you're better off just getting it from the microsoft store if you want it on pc, because it's a vastly superior deal. The hilarious thing is the CE version is on playstation store for 19.99 at full price; I've asked Koei twitter why the exact same digital game has a $50 price tag on steam while it's $20 on psn, and they simply told me the last it was on sale was back in March. That doesn't answer my question at all but aight ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway as I said, the complete edition literally only means that the game is Dynasty Warriors 8 + Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends packaged as one game. The dlc offered is pretty much the same across the vanilla/complete edition, so definitive simply offers the dlc without additional purchase. What's included in the games is easily located on the Koei fandom wiki.

The definitive edition specifically states it includes most dlc previously available for dw8, besides some collaboration dlc.

The steam version of CE comes with some collab dlc, I can't say for sure if they're included in DE, either way DE is still the superior version, and you can only purchase that for the switch or from the microsoft store. There literally is no other platform DE was offered to, and only the switch version even got an announcement. I stumbled on the microsoft store version completely by accident.

The Definitive Edition is missing the colaboration costumes, which are avaiable as DLC in this version (on the Special Costumes DLC).

Other than that, the 2 versions are pretty much the same, you can only use cross DLC with DW8 Empires if you have the Steam version tho.

Could you please tell us how to achieve this? I know some pirated version of DW8XLCE could add custom DLCs easily, but at the same time you cannot get achievements.
