It also lacks content and replayability which is one of the most important things for a musou game, it only has 30 characters and half of them are semi-clones who share the same gameplay style and animations, only the properties are different.
It has good combat though compared to DW8 and SW4, but that is literally the only big positive thing about the game in my honest opinion.
Dynasty Warriors 9 only has a few gameplay videos so we can not judge it yet, but so far it looks way more 'interesting' than Warriors All-Stars especially because they actually change it this time with new ideas by making it openworld with dynamic day-night cycle and completely different combat system but it remains to be seen if it will be better or not in the near future.
All Stars is like Hyrule and its bad
The game focus is different too, one is a mashup of KT's games' character rosters in a fictional world while the other is based historical (albeit abridged and fictionalized) characters and era.
I will be buying all stars and then much later, DW9.
Those with weak/old PC(desktop and especially laptop) should consider upgrading in the meanwhile...
And for DW9, i am also excited about everything from it.
In my opinion DW9 will definitely be the better of the bunch. I really like reality and open world games, but also the warriors-feel in hack and slash games, so I think ninth instalment's gonna be one of my favorite titles ever. (unless it undergoes No Man's Land treatment)
Warriors All-Stars is more action-focused, or over-the-too if you prefer. DW9 will tone the action down to a realistic level, while All-Stars just feels like overall splash of color, fun and pummeling peons to oblivion. It also feels more like SW in terms of graphics and combat, which I like a lot though I prefer DW combo system a bit more.
If All-Stars goes 40€ or under give it a try, otherwise you might want to wait for a sale. DW9 I can justify for the usual 60€ perfectly well.
Happy hacking and slashing, fellow warriors
It will have much like spirit of samurai. Though to me that is the weakest game. If you recall the last chapter can not be played by anyone even when beat. Those are the hardest battles, and its a step down on free mode.
Also depending on how many toons you can play or how fast you unlock them. For the most part you were locked with a few toons most the game.
In the end I do think Dw9 will be the better game but won't replace 8. Due to rasons listed above, and from looks of it many toons are sharing same weapons sets in dw9 now as well No idea why.
Dw9 will havethe better story, open world and new flashy stuff. But I don't see it replacing 8 if you have all dlc and costumes.
All stars loosklike DW empires maps, god i hated those. I only am getting it because i can playy a few toons like Azura night and hope a part 2 comes some day.
We don't know much about DW9's story or how in-depth it goes, nor if it'll have an XL counterpart or if we'll have another 4-II situation. After all, having an open world could mean sacrificing the story elements.
...are... are people actually complaining about that? Of course it's fan service, the game was literally created to celebrate Omega Force's 20th anniversary.
