Shantae and the Pirate's Curse "only for 3DS & Wii U" is it exclusive?

That's not a technology thing, that's a publishers milking you thing. Why would they stop that when it works?

Wii U definitely requires some updates, but it's not nearly as bad as other consoles.

I don't need luck for that. See, I have this really wierdo thing I do called "keeping my old games and systems". My PS3 will continue playing my PS3 library perfectly well.

Again, no luck needed. Games usually drop in price by that much within a month or two of release, regardless of which platform they're on. Perhaps you were unaware of that?

It would be awesome to have Pirate's Course on Steam as well, I'm having a blast with Risky's Revenge on Steam. I first played it on iOS but I gotta say it was too easy and didn't really hooked me on until the Steam release, because I can share screenshots and all that. I was kind of shocked with the tone this game ended so of course I imagined it was part of a series, which I think is a really neat idea. I hope they release it on Steam at some point, for now I'm trying to get all the achievements, it's really fun to re-play this game.

I definitely back this up. Granted, I'm getting Half-Genie Hero regardless, but I would love for Pirate's Curse to come out on here as well. Just because I don't want to miss out on one game, plus seeing as Pirate's Curse is going to show how and when she gets her magic back, jumping to Half-Genie Hero without knowing how it happens (something will probably be mentioned in HGH anyways) will kinda throw things off for me at first. Either way, I look forward to both games, even if I have to buy Pirate's Curse on 3DS, would prefer PC, but if it's Nintendo exclusive, then I'll settle for 3DS.

Same here. I stopped buying consoles after the Nintendo DS Lite so no Pirate's Curse for me. Which kinds sucks because, as has already been noted, Pirate's Curse is probably neccessary to understand how we got from the ending of Risky's Revenge to the beginning of Half-Genie Hero.

I think that Nintendo has the exclusive rights for the next few years, though, so it'll take some time until we can see PC on the PC. I guess I'll have to watch a Let's Play or something.

I was really disappointed that Risky was barely in Risky's Revenge at all. Also... uhm... seems like Shantae basically just did all the work for her since Risky didn't have the MacGuffins yet anyway? o_O

I'd like to throw in my support for a PC port of Pirate's Curse. Hopefully, you guys can find the time to work on that after the Wii U port's done.

That does tick me off a little. I own the first on gameboy, and on virtual console. And the second one on Steam, the Dsi version, and then later importanted it to the 3DS. I really want it on here, but it seems unlikely. However, 1/2 Genie Hero, the recently funded kickstarter one will be on all consoles INCLUDING STEAM. :)

Yes, but Half-Genie Gero won't be on 3DS. Which actually is annoying to me, because I'd like my 3DS to be able to play all of Shantae's adventures, and now one won't be there. Considering 3 out of 4 games are, it bugs my inner completionist/collector.
