Over The Top: WWI

Over The Top: WWI

Pretty big improvement over the first playtest.
I didn't have much hope for the game when I did the first playtest, but this most recent one was actually really fun, MUCH more stable, and the community in the game is hilarious and fun. Gunplay felt much more dialed in too, if still wonky in some situations (point-blank aiming in third person still misses sometimes, and the very annoying fact that some guns have a half-second delay between clicking and actually shooting, noticed this with the Madsen.)

Hopefully more (historical) customization is added as far as faces and uniforms and the like, and more maps and weapons too.

Only possible issue I really encountered this playtest is that mountain map (you know the one) where the spawn in the mountain leads either directly out onto the mountainside where you're mowed down instantly, or into a corridor which the enemy has easy access to and camps with flamethrowers-- speaking of, there needs to be SOME form of balancing to negate how harsh spawncamping can be.

Great progress so far, really excited for the next playtest or full release.

Thank you for playing! If you want to support us further, wishlisting helps a ton.

Needs more trench warfare, maps are kinda bad tbh. Why not verdun or somme? with people waiting in trenches before doing mass pushes? that would be awesome. Instead we have a bunch of people running around everywhere

Some maps have a lot of premade trenches, while other maps are more untouched, allowing players to shape the map with their own trenches and defenses. Some people prefer the former, others the latter. A lot of people do enjoy making their own defenses.

We do have an in game map editor that anyone can use as well.

Campaigns also didnt last super long this playtest, rarely reaching 9-10 turns. Elongating them would increase the amount of trenches we see around
