Game will not launch!

Hello everytime i try launching this game it comes up with "The application cannot be initialized"

I have no idea what is the problem i know i can run this game as i installed it years ago on this comp via disk and it played perfectly but steam just wont allow me to launch it at all, any ideas?

Try running it in compatibility mode as Windows XP. I don't know if that'll help (I have this game through GOG, not Steam) but considering the game's age, it might not run very well on Win7 or Win8.

Sadly did not work, keeps coming up with same issue.

Fixed the issue, i had an old file of imperial glory and i just uninstalled this and it works fine!
