Imagine changing your class to the only advanced class option available only for Kiseff to release second option that you like way more in the next update. That would be terrible experience for anybody who is against save editing (and many people dislike having to resort to cheating).
No, Kiseff absolutely should release all the planned advanced classes options for each specific class simultaneously. Releasing only mystic's and fighter's advanced classes next update and both bandit's advanced classes later is better than releasing one bandit's class next update and second later.
Anyway, he's probably going to release the next update only after he'll get all the advanced classes options ready... Which means that yeah, we are probably not getting new update in March. Tbh this is a bit frustrating at this point. Previous update didn't contain much content and was released literally a quarter of the year ago.
Wasn't last update released in December? We got some cosmetics and the ability to use other class's specific armor as vanity. But yeah, I would prefer if Kiseff just released 1 subclass for each class next update, rather than having 2 for Mystic and Fighter while having 0 for Bandit lol.
I'm personally more interested in the 3 new zones he has shown to be honest, as I'm already very comfortable with all the skills I chosed for each of my characters.
Aaaaaand the fishing minigame seems like something cozy to do while chatting and resting after a Dungeon. Instead of the usual going to the campfire in front of Sally's shop.
I actually hope he will release the new update without any of the advanced classes ASAP because i'm more interested in the new zones and Crescent Grove difficulty 2. Getting advanced classes would be very nice, but i absolutely can wait for that one more month or two, and tbh it would make more sense for us to be able to obtain advanced classes later in the game, like at least halfway through, at the level 35-40+.
(Reminder that the part of the game that is already released is supposed to be the first quarter of the game)
For a solo dev, the amount he's gotten done in 3 months is absolutely insane; I think people really underestimate how much of a nightmare it is to bugfix a system this complicated. Make one change and seventeen other seemingly-unrelated things break for no discernible reason. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so frustrating.
Also, while I heard this in-game and therefore don't have a source for it, apparently the only reason this was released in early access like this was because enough people backed on Patreon that Steam said he couldn't have any more alpha keys, but he still needed keys for backers, so he had to go early access to be able to deliver on his promises on Patreon. Based on that, if I was in his shoes, I would very much resent having to rush my existing dev cycle/process just because a ton of people who bought the game on Steam think it's not coming along fast enough; doubly so if it's true that he really didn't intend for it to be publicly available yet, but something forced his hand.
in conclusion: Chill out, I'd much rather him not burn himself out, because then it still takes forever and also the game sucks. I can wait an extra however long if that means the end product is actually good, and especially for a game like this that I love so much; this kind of pressure is how we ended up with all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ "AAA" titles that come out. Hell, that's how we ended up with both gen 8 and 9 of Pokemon being an unfinished, buggy mess. (Moreso 9 on the bugs, but they're both pretty excruciatingly obviously a "minimum viable product".) Legends: Arceus was outsourced for crying out loud, and it's still better than SwSh in terms of feeling "done". (This is all obviously my opinion, but like... just look at the Wild Area textures and tell me that's intended to be the finished product, on hardware that can run BotW or TotK. Does it impact gameplay? No, not at all, but it definitely wouldn't score well if you submitted it in a game design class.)
That would be weird consider that the Patreon builds from like 2018 onwards were very VERY different from what they are now. As back then Atlyss (previously known as "Poon Quest") was a NSFW souls-like game that played more like a slow action RPG similar to Dark Souls. And when he wanted to sell this new version years later he went directly to Steam and released a free public demo on Itch io in the meantime while the Steam Early Acess build was getting for release.
And by the way, don't tell me to chill out when in my comment I was defending Kiseff by saying the last update was only on December, in response to that dude saying "A quarter of a year ago!" to make it sound like is been so long. Is like people who claims a game a game costs "Almost a hundred dollars!" when they paid 60 dollars.
Maybe you have forgotten about that, but in the mandatory FAQ for the Steam Early Access Kiseff wrote that he is giving himself at least a year to finish the game, and the full game is supposed to have 4x more zones and dungeons.
The game released to Early Access 4 months ago. At this rate if Kiseff will not release the update with new zones TOMORROW, there is no way he will finish the full game in even two years.
You know what people call Early Access games that give huge promises then fail to deliver them within any reasonable time even with delays? Scams. They call them scams.
I know nothing about his Patreon and previous builds of this game, and why should i even care? I'm not interested in that information. I bought the game based on the info on the Steam page, based off what the game was at that moment and what was promised. What was promised is that the game will have 4x more zones and dungeons in a year or a bit more than a year. You can't argue that the maximum amount of time you can call "a bit more than a year" is two years. Do you think i and a lot of other players like me deserve to be scammed by Kiseff?
Btw, i still love this game. I still recommend it to people even today. I saw all the progress demonstrations so i believe that he's working on the next update and it's taking so long just because he decided to stuff too many things into it.
But the game that you can play now, on 16.03.2025, still is a first quarter of a game, and you really can feel it when playing. It's too short. And i really hope to get what was promised to me when i payed full price for this game 3,5 months ago and convinced my friend to do the same. If not in a year, then at least in two years!
You sound incredibly self-centered and self entitled.. Maybe if you have such a problem with the way things turned out, why don't you do it yourself? Instead of expecting everything to go perfectly, or how you expect.
please dont even start to insult each others i like this game too i want an update but untile isnt ready we cant do nothing or maybe we can invent a way for play it in a different way using our immagination maybe. thers no reason for fight between us we are strangers but we can be part of a new community with common tastes so be good ; )
Then ask for a refun and move on. You don't have to act like that over a game that you know is being updated and that every 2 or 3 days the only developer shows something new he made for the next update.
I'm genuinely being honest when I say that this isn't good for your mental health. So the best you can do right now is ask for a refund and rest.
