I think for the Initiative part of it, that's the warband's icon you're thinking of. That second part makes sense, but there's no benefit to taking them unless an objective is to secure a particular one?
That's the consumable item without a fighter's name attached, I'm pretty sure.
Unless I'm mistaken, you need to gather the talismans/lucky charms/holy relics/whatever of all the units the objective requires you to kill, and that completes the objective and you win.
there is an extra "winning condition"/ objective called Marked For Death, that requires you to locate and take the Trophies of sepcific targets in order to win.
However it is a valid point that both a consumable and the Mercenaries' one is named the same, we'll check it out and adjust it! Cheers :)
