Can someone give me the lowdown on enchanting?
How do I enchant stuff?

I got drops for "Formulas", one of them said something about helmet and amulets but the enchantment pane said I didnt have the required diagrams

I've not done it but the theory is you by the diagram which you learn (not 100% if its automatic or not) then you can enchant items of a specific type with said enchantment. Only blue/purple items corrosponding to there diagrams can be enchanted. it costs money to do oas well.

So.. what is a formula? Because nothing popped for my helmets and stuff after I found them, and they were nowhere to be found in my inventory, so I assumed they got added somehow to a book of enchants or something like that.

you have to buy those seperately

What do you mean?

I have found formulas?

One was Formula: clarity and said something about enchanting helmets and amulets if I recall correctly.

And you have corrosponding items?

Then it should be the case of clicking on the item and then enchantment tab

blue or purple?

enchanting is simple if you have the required parts. if you cant do it, means you dont have the parts.

1) you need blue or purple item with a socket
2) you need enchantment formula of correct type
3) go to items, select blue item, click on enchantment tab, select enchantment formula, click enchant - or apply, i forget
4)...
5) profit!

anyhow biggest problem is getting items and correct formulas for them. not all enchants can fit in all sockets, its fairly restricted. So you need double luck - first luck to get correct item, second luck to get a correct enchant for it.

realistically, enchants looks like will be extremely rare. Like, impossibly rare.

Most can be gained via reputation if you look, this is why I haven't done it yet, got tons of items no diagrams.

Well, blue enchantment, blue corresponding items. No option to enchant.

Anyway, now I know how it works.

no no, you have to have proper enchant for item.

meaning, weaponskill cannot go into helmets by memory, and chance to cast cannot go into swords. armor can only enchant stats, weapons can only enchant damage and weaponskill of various kinds, and helmets do with mind, magic, accuracy, perception - what i remember anyways.

And those enchants that cannot go into selected sockets do not show up in enchant tab. its not blue-blue color of item and enchant. that is just relative rarity.

I'm not sure how many times I mentioned that I got an enchant that specifically said something about helmets and amulets.

And that I had helmets and amulets with slots.

And that the enchantment panel said that I had no diagram of the type.

purple enchants can only go on purple items so wont show up for blues - this is what I missed and so haven't seen a couple of my enchants yet as I've not had a purple item to put them in.

As they should be. The wargame only has 4 magic items, although there are doubtless others for Dramatis Personae and non official warbands..

I dunno.....I've found a few formulas, followed your tips about color and function, and still can't seem to find them...
