I looked around and didn't see that. Thanks for the info!
Still...in the meantime, I'd like to see campaign use a voluntary rout.
This is an entirely separate issue. You can hack your save file regardless. All the current system does is punish people who are trying to play normally.
The devs launched a punshiment feature to band-aid fix multiplayer exploits. I get that. But applying it to single player, especially with the same severity, makes no sense.
Not exactly helping your case...
It's in SP because you're not supposed to be able to circumvent injuries or losses or just bad luck by disconnecting from the game. It should have been shipped alongside the autosave, true, but that's another matter.
They have made a lot of players mad and only slightly deterred the cheaters. Evading losses is still completely possible.
This Alt+F4 punishment did not stop the cheaters, it was a futile attempt. They need to use server based saving to keep everyone in check.
This comes to the logical conclusion: remove the Alt+F4 punishment.
Leave it in PvP, for the sake of determining the winner. That's a given.
@Greybush Thats what I am trying to point out
Gday Bandaid. Could you tiptoe me through this please, including file locations?
Id like to make use of you 'save' system in case of crashes so I can have another stab without being punished for the crash.
Thanks
From what I understand from reading around, they don't have servers (due to funds) to hold the data, thus the local save files; I don't recall what they said the exact plan was to help things, but I believe it involved some sort of validation / synchronization check for save files. Anyway...the point is, we all agree this needs fixing.
I did it in an effort to force devs to think smarter. If people can workaround their punishment, just remove it...
Just copy everthing in that folder into another one of your choice. Of course you have to do that after every game. If a crash occurs, just overwrite the files with your backup.
Whatever they do, it is useless. With no external servers involved, you can simply backup your files. If the use validation, also back up the game data. If they somehow put some hidden files somewhere, create a new partition with only os, steam and mordheim and backup THAT. And thats the brute force aproach which takes no skill whatsoever. They cannot win, and every moment trying to win is a moment lost for developing this great game. If someone cheats or abandons in Multiplayer, let the community handle it. There is already a blacklist over in the group Gentleman of Mordheim. If someone cheats in Singleplayer... who the ♥♥♥♥ cares???
Legend.
You have no idea how helpful that is. Really looking forward to playing now.
Thank you very much
