Smugglers Den rate of advancement
This might be going into the Feedback section later on, but I want to check with other players first and see if they agree.

Does anybody feel that the rate at which you get faction rewards is a little slow compared to the rate of other advancement (levelling, kit, etc.)?

At the moment I have a Sisters warband sitting on warband level 9, with all characters at level 10 and almost completely kitted in purple gear. But in the Smugglers Den I have my main faction at level 2 and one of the secondaries at level 1 (the other I have never bothered with, although I might soon as they are now offering a pretty good price...)

A lot of the rewards for levelling factions is getting skill discounts, but at this point I've bought most of my skills, so not that useful.

Just wanted to see if anybody else was thinking on the same lines or if I'm just playing the game weirdly.

It definatly lags your warband progression.

Hard to get out of even a deadly mission with more than 150 lbs of wyrdstone even if you pick it all up and truck it back to your cart which means that to go from faction lvl 1-3 progression you need 25 ideal runs to advance which would net you a minimum of 125 exp if you did nothing but live and run deadly missions (without ever completing a secondary objective or killing anyone). I think it's 140 exp to raise a unit from 0 to 10, considering the fact that shipment requests don't count towards your goal, it would be unusual to get to the 3rd progression without pretty much maxing all your guys.

On the other hand, faction level doesn't really matter that much.

Faction level does give access to the books though, so I'd guess that's why it's behind such a grindwall. Although I agree with OP that it feels weird to have a rank 10 warband with all-purple gear and my highest faction level is still only 3.

Lol I'm not even that high got two factions nearing Lvl 3 now and I've got Purple gear stockpiles and I'm levelling my reserve memebers as all my main ones and warband are Rank 10.

HOWEVER - it maintains something for me to aspire to and work towards, which outside of a multiplayer, is what's keeping me playing them.

Make a note of it in feedback, if enough people mention it the dev's might change it.

my guess is that is some sort of "end game" content as you can get an achivement for playing a warband for 5 in-game years. so plenty of time to max those out. but thats only what i was thinking, i could very well be complety wrong.

edit. typo

I agree. On how to fix it though I think warband and hero/henchmen level should be a little slower on progression.

Faction rep gain is clearly balanced for MP, not SP. I'm at Rank 7 WB and with Rank 8/9 members and have barely gotten level 2 with my primary faction and lvl 1 for another.

I guess it was added with those players in mind who will spend hundreds and hundreds of hours on one warband.

It's not necessarily the fact that there's a slow advancement track for late-game content; it's that some of the things on there are much more beneficial to warbands early on than they are to extremely advanced ones.

Main faction seems to give you a level 7 leader at 4 reputation and a level 7 Impressive at 5. At this point there's no way you won't have level 10s for both of these, although I suppose they are OK for casualty replacements.

Side factions give you skill discounts. Again, by the time you get some of these higher levels you are likely to have all your units at level 10 and have purchased their skills (again, maybe useful for replacements).
At the moment I put off shipment requests as long as possible so that I can gather wyrdstone for rep.

I would be happy if I the shipment requests counted towards rep for your main factoin while the other two remained optonal.

"Faction rep gain is clearly balanced for MP, not SP."

I think you meant balanced for SP and not for MP. Cos in only MP you need to play a lot more than even in SP for those rep levels.

Wait, you can drop wyrdstones off at your cart? I could have sworn I tried before; which action was it?

You just walk to your cart. When you stand behind the cart theres 2 spots where you can interact. 1 option is praying(on the left) and the other is open cart inventory (on the right) and then just drop your stuff like in a normal lootbody/chest.

Thanks so much! I saw the praying option and thought that was it. I never moved to the other side of the cart.

I would love to be able to advance the factions a bit faster. Just started a new Berserk themed merc warband and I really want the Sister Superior as one of my heroes. I am WB rank 6 or 7 right now and have lvl6-8 warriors and only 250 of the needed 1250 rep for Sigmars haven to get to rep rank 3.
