Second, I was at the GDC and no word on Mordheim 2. Have to understand that Mordheim is now 10 years old. It was this developers first game and GW has full control on what happens with Mordheim in the future. The original creators do go on many occasions go as guests on many of the Table Top Podcasts.
With the resurgences of AI generators and vastly superior Engine tools than when Mordheim was done (Unity) 10 years ago would probably make the games development more precise, faster, and better executed, BUT that is GW's decision. There are petitions and inquiries made to GWs who have their own the publishing rights to Mordheim, so your best bet is to go through them with your inquiries.
They proceed very slowly, very carefully.
Rogue Factor (Canada) is doing Hell is US seen here

I am unclear on their relationship today.
Games Workshop have strong ties with a ton of developers.
Have to remember these things take a ton of money and time.
In my opinion, did RF learn from their Mordheim experience for Necro.
No, they made some of the same mistakes and their DLC releases were much worse than Mordheim, but two different games.
Both games had a net positive in revenue. They have profited more on discounts than the original entries and that all gets dwindled down in costs, shared profit margins with other partners, and taxation.
So clearly, if Games Workshop and Rogue Nation wanted to do a Mordheim 2. They could, or GW could simply seek another developer.
There is always a chance, but I would doubt Mordheim 2 would be the same in a alot of ways.
As developers grow, add more personnel, more experience, their releases SHOULD get better, more defined and simply solid.
All I will say is you never know. The bottom line is this, ANY such meeting or venture the first question is. Can M2 be more profitable than M1. If the answer is yes, then maybe one day you may see it.
Peace
You're spot on - they would re-release the tabletop game first I'm sure. There is a chance of this since they seem to have cooled down on Warcry which is the fantasy skirmish game that pretty much replaced Mordheim slot in the lineup. No one knows for sure though - at this stage I think GW are testing old world success before confirming next steps.
