Marksman cant use dueling pistols?

So I got some dueling pistols and wanted to give them to my Marksman, turns out he cant use them. A warrior can use them but a marksman cant, is this a bug?
Just seems weird.

Nope they can't for some reason.. Only pistol and every other blackpowder weapon! :P

Its taken over from the TT, duelling pistols where expensive, hence only heroes had acces to them.

you are completely right. I will make a bug report or feedback post about. either no henchmen should acces it or marksmen should be able to aswell.

The latter may be a bit OP as you wouldn't use pistols :P I know the damage is higher but the +8% to hit is just so good!

true, so i'd advocate limiting it to heroes :) Altthough pistols have better range and late game that +8 doesnt matter much, but go say it over in that thread :)

That's because they're Marksmen, i.e. not close combat fighters.
Duelling Pistols are, as the name suggests, quick fire weapons for close quarters (so more suited for Warriors, really).

Granted, this isn't that well represented in game mechanics, seeing as they actually have the same range as Pistols, Warp-Lock Pistols, Short Bows and Shurikens, but apparantly 25m is the lowest max range.

I don't care much about duelling pistols, but I would love to use a shortbow with my marksman hero...

15/20/25 are the ranges for all those weapons, afaik.
Bows, Crossbows and Handguns go up to 30, Longbows up to 35, and Hunting Rifle up to 40.
