Btw, how did you bring up the spell list/info like that? Is that your own overlay?
Yeah I've created the overlays in photoshop and rendered them in to fit with the video of the warriors and my voice :)
Thanks a lot for the kind words buddy! :)
Buts its really good! :D
I don't know of these other orders - afaik only the Order of the Templars of Sigmar exists in this period of time :D my research didn't show me any others that is.
My research did show me that they use rapiers, but I guess it's something that i may have picked up from the Warhammer Fantasy roleplay site ;)
Thanks for correcting me and foe the compliment :)
That is deffinatly something I'll want to do - I really enjoy making these kinds of videos :) Thank you!
Originally in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (1st edition) Witchunters could use any equipment they liked. In fact the iconic 1st ed illustration ahd one on horseback wearing a breastplate with a two handed sword on his back. I believe he also had a crossbow, some shackles, mantraps and other things as well including an assortment of one handed weapons.
Then many years later Warhammer Quest came out. Around that time Games Workshop produced a Witchunter miniature with a sabre and a pistol. They produced a second sabre & pistol witchunter miniature (subtly different) for Warhammer Quest. After that they decided that every Witchunter should be cast in the same mould (sword & pistol) with rapiers and sabres being used frequently. This carried on into Warhammer Online (WAR: Age of Reckoning). I believe they propitiated this image in later games (such as Vermintide).
Of course, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 2nd edition Witchunters can still use any equipment that they like but by this point an iconic image had been built up.
Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 3rd edition does not exist. It's an insult to roleplaying games with a horrible rules system shoe horned onto it while they kept the same rules for the 40k rpgs (because they knew the rules were good). Why did they change the rules for WFRP? Many of us suspect that Fantasy Flight had a load of rules left over from some other cancelled game and the author insisted on forcing it onto WFRP to get the rules published (and so FFG would get their money's worth for the investment they'd put into the rules).
I remember playing my first Ironbreaker. I learned the basics of MMO tanking within two weeks in that game despite nobody telling me how to do it and never having played an MMO game before. Hey, I hadn't even played a subscription based game before but wanted to support a Warhammer MMO so badly. Especially as it had already been cancelled then rebuilt from the ground up one or two times already.
The game was great - but the RvR never got good enough and it killed the game... I've tried the free version of the game and it's just not what I remembered you know :) Guess age has taken it's hold :D
That's probably true. It was great at the time but probably has not aged well. I heard that around the time I stopped playing they started adding all kinds of pinball "run to this place and get transformed into an overpowered skaven" nonsense that "ruined the game" for many people.
A very nice video. The only minor irk, for me at least, was that at some points there were some pretty awkward sounding pauses. For example when describing what Hired Swords they can have, there's that one second pause between Wolfie and Smugler. In these cases I suggest you remove the pause and then either tighten the video presentation accordingly or leave as is and trust the viewers being able to bridge the gap between told information and delayed presentation themselves.
This also provides insight as to where I know you username, odds are its either FFG, Strike to Stun, Libre Fanaticia or a combination of the above! :D
I'd need to check about the other Witch Hunter Orders at the time period as I honestly don't know from memory.
As an aside I like 3rd Edition but would have prefered an updated second edition espeically with how they left it besically just redoing areas that had been covered in more detial by second edition. I was under the impression they needed a popular system to test the new rules on before Star Wars, which uses a far improved version of the mechanics. I am very sore about how it was left however, and if at some point someone were to produce a 4th edition I'd be far more interested in a improved version of 2nd ed over 3rd because 3rd is lacking so much while 2nd featured my fav RPG book I've ever had the pleasure to buy.. The Tome of Corruption.
Thanks for watching Ijlinna - very much appreciated! Yeah I'll try to mimimize the pauses in the future.
The ones after each warrior was intended to give the viewer a few seconds to read the last stuff that appeared and/or pause when the whole was shown.
At the Wolfie priest I wanted to show the model for a few seconds, but I guess it was enough time while I spoke :)
Great feedback (as you are known for!) - thanks again!
@Crimsonsun
I went back and checked and I found my info on the warhammerfantasy.wikia.com - and there they use an image from WAR and state that they use rapiers :D
I should have looked further - I hope people can forgive that blunder :)
E: Spelling - damn phone!
