Mods
I typically get mods either through the Steam Workshop or Nexus, neither of which are an option here. I've heard that there are good mods for this game, but no specifics on what I could expect to see. So what sorts of mods does this game have? Extra factions? I've heard that a dwarf faction was in the works before the game was abandoned, so that'd be interesting to see finished by modders. more customization options? Or is it mostly either rebalancing or straight up cheats?

There's only one currently, Paramod, and its available from the downloads section of the discord channel mentioned in this thread:

Here's a bit of reviewing of the same:

And ere:

Its basically Mordheim (almost Mordheim: Reforged) tuned to the max with the tools and copyright stuff available (so no new bands, alas).

Dont bother with paramod. It increases the AI handicap and makes 100% hit rates miss.

@Stoke: Lol what an expert, you seem to be very aware about the mod changes. Can you give more details, please ? It should be very interesting for everyone.

After installing this mod I went in and tried sisters since they have alot of spellcasting. Though it helped the spell casting, this mod seems to have made what was once a tanky grp into a bunch of squishies getting one shotted left and right. I tried a number of times and no go. Never had this issue with vanilla. So next i tried undead. first grp i came across were the sisters. Now suddenly these sisters are one shotting the undead. In one round the leader showed 100% hit chance and missed. As if those annoying 75% misses werent annoying enough. Doesnt take a rocket scientist to see this mod has changed alot more than the spellcasting in favor of the AI teams.

Considering hit chance can never exceed 95 percent, this seems unlikely. I switched over to paramod after finishing the story missions for every faction in vanilla. It brings back some features from early access to make it more challenging, since the development team removed them after player complaints. Demons are more frequent for example. It also changed a lot if skills to make them more appealing to take. Healing abilities are greatly boosted, but have limited uses.

Well, I have only played the sisters all my gameplay time & if I don't play sneaky (& a bit tedious) for all the first turns, my warriors are almost one-shoted too (particularily if all of the opponents are wearing 2-hand weapons).
I'm playing with only 4 fighters (1 leader & 3 henchmen) in the Vanilla & I'm convinced to not be able to fight the Vampires (not enough leadership points/Fear Res.) until I can learn the good skills to deal with them.
So when you say "the leader showed 100% hit chance", I'm a bit suprised because the highiest Hit Chance I can have in the Vanilla is 95%. So I guess it was a manner of speaking...

As far as I know, only their leader can decently tank more than 2 hits as far as I know (she is a shield wielding & has a light armor).
I have 'successfully' achieved 9 missions so far and my opponents have systematically 20-30HP more than my own units (but the total points of their warband are still under mine). I have put all the points to have the best dodge the sisters can have (except for their leader) and I still need to be 2 vs. 1 even 3 vs. 1 to have a chance to win the mission without casualties.

I didn't have so much differences with the Paramod but I have never played more than 6-7 missions (until the 1st. ambush mission) with this mod unfortunately...

Before this mod i too had never seen a hit chance that high. I had my leader for the sisters in heavy armor and she went down in round 1 a few times. I think the farthest i got was round 6 before our grps moral gave out. I just wouldnt recommend this one.

So there is no a strict "bugfixes only" mod ?
dv Mar 19, 2022 @ 12:26am
There is a 2nd mod which is available in the same location as Paramod: Mordheim Monster Magic. It does not rebalance anything. Instead it fixed bugs and has several optional features.
