Is Ogre a Hired Gun only?

I never get an Ogre in my rotation for regular hiring, is he Hired Gun only unless I get to rank 5 with Baron Von Leifdorfer?

Ogre is only for Mercenaries at Warband Rank 5 and onward, and is placed on the slot above the third and fourth Hero Slots if those two slots are unused.

Thank you, I don't have the middle slot unlocked, but do have 4 hero slots, and my Warband rank is 6.

I can get an Ogre from Hired Gun recruitment, but not normal recruitment. Does he unlock for normal recruitment later, or Ogres are always Hired Guns and thus cost more upkeep?

It kind of makes sense they are only hired guns, it's just I don't have the money to keep one yet I think.

If your WB is rank 6 it is unlocked, it appears locked because you have heroes in slot 3-4 i would gueess.
Try putting the heroes in 3 & 4 into your sideline roster and click on the impressive slot to hire.

Yeah I was trying to recruit from the reserve slots. It would show all the other types, but not impressive.

You can recruit an impressive from reserve slots: The two slots regular of one group need to be empty and you click on the one above the two.
