Report a translation problem
Darksouls are better melee skill and strength wise and they are immune to psycology, but they can't disengage or use any ranged weapons.
The Bretheren can and have a passive that increase their overwatch to hit, combine that with a melee focus and you have a decent melee warrior! Their weapon skill can be increased to 15 with books.

And as much as I really want to love the Possessed, I can't recommend using him. He is insanely squishy and his defensive capabilities are lkmited (due to low agi) where the Marauder can get decent agi or use light armor.

I've heard this but meant a level 7 Possessed and I should have been clear. I'm always looking for the lottery mutations!

It is litteratly the only way to make him viable, that and making him a leader.
And darksouls can train attracting lure, which will negate most of their inability to disengage. It even works on zombies, which might be a bug.
yesterday i had a brutal mission where a norse with 2 arm mutations critted my vampire girl for 120 dmg
...wut? Not making much sense there.
Overwatch doesn't help with melee at all.
Also,Brethren can get a max of 13 WS with books.
Darksouls can get 15 with books.
You mixing them up?
The only advantage Brethren have in melee is being able to Disengage, but that's somewhat cancelled out by Darksouls being immune to Psychology.
Again, what?
Possessed can be really good. They're just not frontliners, so they require flanking.
And they can get 15 Agi while still having 9 Str and Toughness, so Agi is not a problem.
With ok mutations, they can be really devastating in melee.
Coupled with Fear, the option to give them 17 Toughness (which can push them nicely over 400 HP with Hardy and Constitution) means they can get pretty decent survivability.
They're also the only unit apart from Spawn that can get the Ripper and extra limb mutations, both of which are really good.
And to top it off, they start with 7 movement.
Their main drawbacks are the forced dualwield, low Int with no Helmet, and only Cloth armour.
Marauders do not have good Agi. They start with the same as Possessed, but only have a 10 max. And like Mutants, they are extremely susceptible to "bad" mutations screwing up their build, meaning you need to wait until they're rank 7 to give them most skills, or find a rank 7 with fitting mutations.
They also suffer from not being able to Flee/Disengage, but are still affected by Fear/Terror (Possessed are not), so you have to invest more in LD from an already low amount of Mental stat points, leaving them with either low Int or low Alertness.
Marauders make better tanks overall, but for pure dmg a Possessed is just a as good.
Simply put, Possessed are very underrated.
I've been saying that for a long while, but nobody listens...
And you're exactly right about the Possessed, great Agi, good mutations, immunity to all psychology instead of just AA.
Even their martial stats are comparable to the Marauder, with only 1 less max WS and 1 less sum of martial stats, whilst still getting 15 WS and 9 Acc.
And also having equal Physical points, but higher starting and max Str and Toughness.
So you can go 16/15/3 for a powerhouse, or 7/12/15 for a Dodge build.
Marauder can not get 15 in any two stats without books.
Always been a fan of the Possessed. Just get tired of repeating myself.
Possessed can defenitly bring the pain.
