If on laptop (unlikely, I know), occasionally Steam makes Mordheim also use the wrong card.
This is on a desktop PC - but will check the control panel in nVidia 3D is it? to make sure its set to use the card
Its definitely not heat as ive tried several temp monitors and they all read below 50 degrees
...Sounds stupid to ask, but have you tried turning the PC off and on again?
I uninstalled mordheim.
I uninstalled the nvidia experience software. And then rolled back the driver to 25.1634 (even though this driver version had same problem)
Reinstalled mordheim. Verified the files.
Completely turned off PC and then took it apart. Specifically the GPU. Mainly to inspect for damage. Suspecting a faulty card. Nothing seen.
Put it all back together.
Game ran this morning for 45 minutes on highest settings. Not a flicker. Very stable. Perhaps it’s going to happen again but as long as I can play at least an hour to do a mission I will have to take that as a win.
I figure no one else answered since they neither had a clue what would be the cause of your issue.
Sadly it was only a temporary repreive as its happened again today at lunch several times and then also on another game Regicide (which has zero demand on graphics).
So its being sent back under warranty - my suspicion is a bad GPU
