How to build the Possessed?
I enjoy my rank 7 Chaos warband, but i miss a piece, which is the Possessed. Because he always dies, and i have to restart with a new one.
How do you build a successful Possessed?
Many thanks and regards

Anyone who can hit a extra arm i build as follows: Daredevil mastered. Blood offering mastered. Fatality mastered. Weak spot mastered. And then it varies a bit on the last skill, if they have 3 weapon arms i tend to grab frenzy for the last bit of damage as they cant loot anyways.
stats are along the line of 15 Strength 15 Toughness (think theres a point left over put it as you like). The mental ones i cap Int and then the last 2 dont really matter too much, usually i just go for more ranged resist. On martial i go for 12 Weapon skill 12 accuracy, cant recall if theres left over points there (usually mix tomes into it and as such cant recall the natural max).

Apart from the blood offering and fatality i'd way putting gold into skills till he reaches at least level 7.. But thats just a matter of taste naturally..

Most players see them and think: wow, what a beast. Go charge in as a front line monster. Their high base movement and potential claw feet also leaves them prone to out running their team mates.

When in reality, they should cover back lines and then move in to finish off weakened units or engage ranged casters or archers. They need to hit and run, getting back into cover. After all, they only wear cloth.

They also benefit greatly from an Order Magister Weapon of Destruction care taker. Which the Possessed then guards.

Worse than that, Possessed have fewer hps than some henchmen, and some of the lowest base damage outputs around.

Then again, Armbands plus Arm Mutations cause monstrous damage.

As for Building Possessed, he is a two-bit Character, either one goes Tanky or Burst.

Burst has been mentioned above, plus he can make for a good Critter.
With exat right Mutations, Possessed can make for a passable Tank (though not having access to Shields hurts). The optimal case is one that misss an Arm, they make for good Dodge Tanks.

All in all, Possessed tend to be full burst damage most of the time. No need to defend when the enemy is dead and the rest are tied down by the rest of the Warband.

Very interesting, thank you all

Yeah, for a tanky version you can get a blade arm mutation for parry stance and double head mutation for increased parry chance. Maybe 1k eyes for some Melee Resist if fear triggers?

They can basically make the best Halbred-type units in the game. Or sword/weapon x, dual wield builds.

I just think glass cannon support is their best niche given the tanky dark souls and magister support skills.

I don't have any experience with them myself, but I've used glass cannon usits in other strategy games, and the best way is to only move in when you can kill a target and then gtfo as soon as they're done. If you get in a fair fight the possessed will just get mobbed and promptly killed. I play a lot of skaven and i assume you use possessed similarly

They are a bit of a hit n' run unit yes, however another way to help them, is archers with dismay runes on headpices/weapons, they can actually turn the fear up on enemies quite alot.. Tho this is not reliant enough to play em as tanks.

A build I've seen suggested before is Charge-focused Possesed:
Daredevil Mastery, Mighty Charge Mastery, Frenzy Mastery, Strider Mastery. Then Tome of Abilities for Adrenaline Rush Basic
That's what I'm currently planning to do, but still waiting on a Hired Sword to show up with extra arm and some other decent mutations.

Sure, once it's been built up a Possessed can be a real damage beast with a Sigmarite-level Dodge tank. Problem is getting it to live long enough to build it up like that. Or find a good Hired Sword to buy.

The main problem with possessed is as always when oh when will i get my armbands.. Some times you will be quite high rank indeed, before you even get your blue armbands and they dont really do decent damage till you get at least 2 of those, and honestly preferrebly purple ones.

And do not even mention the headache that is finding unEnchanted Armbands. The true Christmas miracle, that one is.

Yup.. Nothing beats finding armbands of fury...
