Augur ? how to and why
i cant seem to find any usefulnesses for this unit but i may try and make a leader with 104% Melee Resist. i´m not optimistic , even when you run into a brutal enemy with these girls they just seem underwhelming. last time i ran into a brutal sister warband she lost 1v1 against a level 8 novice.

you guys got any ideas ?

She's a scout/looter/flanker/utility character. Free perception means she can run around without worrying about stepping on a trap and getting stuck or getting surprised by someone hiding in ambush stance. High alertness means she'll be going first, gives her some protection against overwatch attacks, and gives her access to anti-ambush/overwatch passives. For combat she's basically a novice with masteries and more sp/op.

I think people usually build her to trigger ambush/overwatch, take charges, or flank archers/mages. She tends to be more valuable in pvp where you're concerned with outplaying your opponent rather than pve where you're more concerned with outrolling them.

I'm building mine as a dodge/Melee Resist tank. Hearing horror stories of certain bosses in story missions in Act 2 has me getting prepared early. She's the only hero in the warband with the natural base stats I want to hit to make the build I want.

Useless IMO

Yes, a melee unit that can only wear cloth seems a bit out-of-place...

Not necessarily if you go for a dodge build.

Well, obviously a Dodge build is the only way to go for a melee cloth. But wouldn't you inevitably get hit at some point - especially if ganged? Also, occasionally I've seen even the AI field a lot of ranged units...

Sure, cloth is vulnarable. But if you pick your fights right, the Dodge would make you almosst impossible to hit, not to mention in Grey's build 79 melee resist means its hard to be hit in the first place. Finally, in PvP its dangerous, but the AI sucks at using ranged well, its one of the reaosn imo, that mercs are the easiest AI band to fight against. Potentially half their units are worthless.

I love cloth melee units. In fact, my Skaven are all cloth with 8 melee and 2 ranged units.

She is all hit and run. She has three weaknesses. Scavs nuetralize scouts. They can out distance her and will swarm on her quickly before you can get her help. So iI tend to send her w one other unit and hit and run allowing the other unit to engage first. 2. If she goes one on one, she will lose, not because of dodges but because of her weak attacks. 3. The dead also give her trouble if she is left alone.

I made her my Leader and use her as scout/gatherer... its super convenient to be able to see exactly where the loot spots are.

Then your Scout isn't build properly.

Give her knowledge mordheim and she is on 'equal claw, uh footing' (haha)

The problem with the Augur is the opportunity cost. Purifiers are god tier, Warpriests are god tier, Ulric priests are amazing, smugglers and Hero marksmen are very useful. By taking Augur you are taking one less of those amazing units, and with what little it brings to the table it is impossible to justify.

I'm surprised by your fear of clothies tbh - my most resilient character in my Undead is a Vamp Thrall dodge/Melee resist - overall takes much lfewer cuts n' bruises than my Heavy armour parry tank Vamp! BUt I only play against AI so that could be my ignorance!
Ooh and being a shield specialist with master rhield of protection/resistance is her primary ranged defence

OK my point on the scavs and this is probably a weak example. I am speaking early on as u build her up. If the stones are let's middle, u send your Aug to get three fast. You realize 3 scavs are just ahead of u. Your trapped now. Because u cannot out run them. That was my point. Scavs can nuetralize Augs early on. Building her right wasn't the point. I agreed w all of u she needs to hit and run. Come in power and disangage. How I use her

Doesn't she have the highest possible accuracy of the sisters? So build as a crit. ambush/charge unit?
